Thankyou To The Special People

Thank you for being so nice
Helping out
Giving of yourself
Sharing your time
Making the days brighter
Making the load lighter
All the little things you do
And the big smiles you bring
Thank you for being so special
And thank you for everything.

Stress Is A Double Edged Sword

Stress has a positive role to play in our lives.
It makes us motivated.
It gets us pumped up and ready for action,
But it’s a double edged sword.
The trick is to use your daily stress handout constructively,
So it works for you, rather than you being controlled by it.

The Hymn-Singing Hypocrites Will Fry On Judgement Day

On Judgement Day the air will be pungent with the frying of millions of knee-bending, hymn-singing hypocrites.
Church-goers who regard themselves as Christians because they dress up in posh clothes and sing hymns, who are quick to make moral judgements about their neighbours and who look down their noses at non-knee-benders, are sanctimonious, cold-hearted and two-faced.

Don’t Trust Opinion Polls

Opinion polls are both constitutionally stupid and slightly sinister.
Most opinion polls need to be viewed with a lot of suspicion, and read very carefully.
Such polls do not just happen.
Someone decides to commission them, for a reason.
This costs a lot of money.
And the questions that are asked can themselves be used to create opinions where none existed.
They are a device to manipulate public opinion, not a device for measuring it.

Tories U-Turn On Knife Crime

Prior to the election the Tories promised an automatic jail sentence for knife crime.
David Cameron then said there must be a “Presumption to Prison” for all knife offenders including youths found simply carrying a weapon and the Tory manifesto pledged: “We will make it clear that anyone convicted of a knife crime can expect to face a prison sentence”.
In a major U-turn, Justice Secretary Ken Clarke has ruled out mandatory prison terms for all offenders convicted of knife crimes.
Mr. Clarke said he wants to send fewer people to jail.
Under the last Tory government, crime doubled.
Under Labour, more serious and persistent offenders were sent to jail – for longer – and crime fell.

Fools

He that talks to himself speaks to a fool.

He that teaches himself has a fool for his master.

He that is born a fool is never cured.

A fool and his money are soon partying.

A fool and his money are soon invited everywhere.

If you have all the fools on your side you will have the biggest majority.

The haste of a fool is the slowest thing in the world.

There is in human nature generally more of the fool than of the wise.

Let us be thankful for the fools, but for them the rest of us could not succeed.

He who knows not but knows not that he knows not is a fool.

Only a foolish man asks a one-word question.
Really?

None Of Us Are Better Than Anybody Else

Men who look young, act young, and everlastingly harp on the fact that they are young, but who nevertheless think and act with a degree of caution that would be excessive in their grandfathers, are the curses of the world.

The successful man is he who when he sees that no further certainty is attainable, promptly decides on the most probable side, as if he were completely sure it was right.

I have examined myself thoroughly and come to the conclusion that I don’t need to change much.

We live in a moment of history where change is so speeded up that we begin to see the present only when it is already disappearing.

To do things today exactly the way you did them yesterday saves thinking.

Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.

Officialdom has banished street vendors and street entertainers and the only persons who still earn their living on the streets are prostitutes and dope peddlers.

Civilisation is….
Weapons of war, prisons, murder, drugs, brutal sports, suicides, alcohol, animal abuse, rape, divorce, electric chairs, paedophiles, prostitution, kidnapping, torture, low wages, famine, greed….

Most human beings learn to be tolerant, unselfish, and kind to each other.
But their story never gets into the newspapers or the novels or the cinema.
There is no drama in homespun loyalty and homespun love.
But these things outlive and outlast all other things.
They are the splendour and radiance and glory of the commonplace.

None of us are better than anybody else.
Those who think they are, are fools.
And there are many fools in the world today.

There Has Been No Global Warming For The Past 15 Years

There is no dispute that the world got a little warmer over some of the 20th Century.
(Between 1940 and the early Seventies, temperatures actually fell).
But little by little, the supposedly scientific ‘consensus’ that the temperature rise is unprecedented, that it is set to continue to disastrous levels, and that it is all the fault of human beings, is starting to fray.
Earlier this year, a paper by Michael Mann made an extraordinary admission – that, as his critics had always claimed, there had indeed been a ‘medieval warm period’ around 1000 AD, when the world may well have been hotter than it is now.
Other research is beginning to show that cyclical changes in water vapour – a much more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide – may account for much of the 20th century warming.
Even Phil Jones, the CRU director at the centre of last year’s ‘Climategate’  leaked email scandal, was forced to admit in a little-noticed BBC Online interview that there has been ‘no statistically significant warming’ since 1995.
The question now emerging for climate scientists and policy-makers alike is very simple. Just how long does a pause have to be before the thesis that the world is getting hotter because of human activity starts to collapse?

Is There Anybody Out There Who Will Speak For Common Sense?

Colin Gunn, who is serving 35 years for ordering the murder of an innocent couple, has won the right from the Prisons Ombudsman to be called Mr.
There are a number of words that sum up Gunn and yet none of them includes Mr.
Is there anybody out there who will speak for common sense and the increasingly large silent and frustrated majority?
Where is David Cameron on all this?
we heard a lot from him about human rights and its abuses prior to the Election. Now nothing.
He’s had your vote (not mine), now he doesn’t care or give a damn what you think.

100 Women Are Killed Every Year In The UK By Their Husband Or Partner

A shocking 100 women a year are killed in the UK by violent partners.
The number of those killed by husbands or boyfriends has nearly doubled in the past two years.
And charity Refuge claims the situation will get only worse as ConDem cuts bite.
