Count No Day Lost In Which You Took Only Your Share

You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you.

There is no fence or hedge round time that has gone.
You can go back and have what you like if you remember it well enough.

Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.

Follow the herd and you will walk in manure.

Count no day lost in which you waited your turn, took only your share and sought advantage over no one.

Our Nights Are More Disturbed Than We Realise

The stages of sleep repeat themselves through the night in roughly 90-minute cycles.
Typically, the sleeper spends 55-60 per cent of total sleep time in light sleep, followed by 15-25 per cent in deep, or Delta sleep, and 20-25 per cent in Rapid Eye Movement sleep.
In REM, despite the constant flickering of the eyes, there is a complete relaxation of all the postural muscles of the body, while the brain shows identical activity to when it’s awake.
Our nights are more disturbed than we realise.
There might be more than half-a-dozen moments of awakening, but if these moments last for less than three minutes we have no memory of them.
Memory in sleep operates in a different way and a different place, as anyone who has struggled to remember a recent, vivid dream knows.

A Fundamental Test Of Decency

How any Government treats its weakest and most vulnerable citizens is a fundamental test of that administration’s essential decency. And on any reasonable test, David Cameron’s Conservatives are failing abysmally with what must be the cruellest cuts of all.

Who Holds The Key That Can Set Us Free?

Everyone has an angel, a guardian who watches over us.
We can’t know what form they’ll take – one day an old man, next day a little girl.
But don’t let appearances fool you, they can be fierce as any dragon.
Yet they’re not here to fight our battles but to whisper from our heart, reminding that it’s us, it’s everyone of us, who holds the power over the worlds we create.
We can deny our angels exist, convince ourselves they can’t be real but they show up anyway, at strange places and at strange times.
They can speak through any character we can imagine, they’ll shout through demons if they have to, daring us, challenging us to fight.

And finally, this question: The mystery of whose story it will be of who draws the curtains?
Who is it that chooses our steps in a dance?
Who drives us mad, lashes us with whips and crowns us with victory when we survive the impossible?
Who is it that does all these things?
Who honours those with love for the very life we live?
Who sends monsters to kill us, and at the same time things that will never die?
Who teaches us what’s real and how to laugh at lies?
Who decides why we live and what we’ll die to defend?
Who chains us, and who holds the key that can set us free?
It’s you.
You have all the weapons you need.
Now fight…..

The Greed Of Top Bosses

The bosses of the top 100 businesses in the UK gave themselves an average pay rise of 62% last year.
The average worker at Mothercare earns in 11 years and 10 months what boss Ben Gordon got paid in just one week last year.
Gordon earned £5.3 million from a share bonus scheme, giving him a pay rise of 368%, while profits fell by 22% and average staff pay fell by 3%.
Greed and self-interest are the cause of all human suffering in the world today.

Imagine A Life Where Everyone Spoke The Truth

We live in a world of drink, drugs and infidelity.
A world of vanity, greed and selfishness.
A world of lies, excuses and dishonesty.
Imagine how much better it would be if we all spoke the truth….
No one would dodge pub rounds for fear of hearing “Tight-arse strikes again”.
Football commentators would call a 0–0 draw a “load of rubbish”.
Modern art judges would say “a bloody kid could do that”.
Politicians would hear “lying bastards”, and they would be unable not to reply “well you’re the stupid fools who pay us”.
We should put a truth serum in the drinking water to make this happen….. Imagine the fun, and the fighting, and eventually a completely different way of life….

Let’s Wish….

Let’s wish for a world that has peace,
Where cruelty and vengeance will cease,
As the nations decide to take love as their guide,
It would be a happy release.

The Government Needs To Make More Cuts

The super-injunction is a necessary tool protecting the privacy of the innocent but it is being totally abused by the rich, famous and powerful.
Are the judges misinterpreting the letter of the law or do they really have no choice but to legislate in accordance with the letter of the law?

The Government needs to make more cuts – on aid to corrupt countries, pointless wars, MP’s expenses, quangos and bureaucrats.
What it should not be cutting are the jobs of doctors, nurses, the police, the armed forces and firefighters and disability allowances.

Cling To Your Faith

Take a new hope of the year that lies ahead of you.
Dream a new dream
And dream it till at last it all comes true.
Find the new strength
That you will need upon the forward way.
Cling to your faith
And live it every hour of every day.

Disrespectful To Victims And Their Families

How can David Cameron and his cabinet be so jubilant over Osama bin Laden’s execution while opposing the death penalty, even for terrorists, and even for Levi Bellfield, the evil bastard who murdered 13-year-old Milly Dowler and two other young girls.
Bellfield will spend the rest of his life in prison (hopefully), fed, watered and sheltered, with satellite TV and a snooker table, paid for by taxpayers.

The Government is trying to save money by offering offenders a 50% reduction in their prison sentences if they admit to their crimes.
This is disrespectful to victims and their families, who will feel justice has not been done and that their trauma has been trivialised.
Punishment and prison sentences need to be harsh if we are to rid our society of the evil, the wicked, and the vile.
