It’s Probably Love

Just because you miss someone, it doesn’t mean you want them back in your life.

Sometimes the best way to prevent your heart from being broken is to pretend you don’t have one.

Kindness is in our mind, tenderness is in our hands, and love is in our heart.

It’s not what we have that counts, it’s who we have.

True love is when two people care about each other so much that words cannot describe it.

When we really care for someone, and can’t explain how we feel, it’s probably love.

It’s heart-breaking when you want someone to stay but know they want to leave.

Only A Super-Human Mind Could Write The Code Of Life

Safely stored in the nucleus of nearly every living cell in your body is an amazing code called Deoxyribonucleic acid, abbreviated DNA.
It is carried by a long, double-stranded molecule that looks like a twisted ladder.
Your DNA is like a recipe, or program, that directs the formation, growth, maintenance, and reproduction of the trillions of cells that make up your body.
The basic units that make up DNA are called Nucleotides.
These units are called A, C, G, and T, depending on which chemical base they contain.
Like letters of the alphabet, these four characters can be combined in many ways to form ‘sentences’ – instructions that direct replication and other processes within the cell.
The entire package of information stored in your DNA is called you Genome.
Your genome can be compared to a vast library of recipes for every part of your body.
This ‘library’ is about 3.4 billion ‘letters’, or nucleotides (bases), long.
If it were transcribed onto paper, the book would fill 200 volumes the size of a 1,000-page telephone book, according to the Human Genome Project.
Found in the Bible at Psalm 139:16, it reads: “Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in writing”.

Stretched out, the DNA in one cell of your body is about two metres long.
If you were to extract the DNA from all your body’s trillions of cells and put the strands end to end, the total length according to some estimates would be nearly 670 times the distance from Earth to the Sun and back.
To travel that distance at the speed of light would take about 185 hours.

Computer and information scientist Donald E Johnson said that the laws of chemistry and physics are unable to create complex information or systems that process that information. And it stands to reason that the more complex a package of information, the greater the intelligence needed to write it.
Only a super-human mind could write the code of life.

Don’t Search For Happiness

How ironic, that man who can see beyond the moon,
Is so short-sighted that very soon,
Unless he wakes up and looks at the Earth,
He will have destroyed all things of worth.

When your friend stops talking to you and starts talking about you, they are no longer your friend.

There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger after them.

Courage isn’t having the strength to go on,
Courage is going on when you don’t have the strength.

Everything should be made as simple as possible,
And no simpler.

Don’t search for happiness, try and create it,
For yourself and for others.

Raw Honey Is Best

It is often hailed as a natural, healthy sweetener – but in most cases, honey bought from supermarkets today is simply sugar syrup with no nutritional value at all.
To reap the true benefits of what was dubbed ‘the food of the Gods’ by the Ancient Greeks, you have to look for the raw variety.
Perfectly clear honey has usually undergone a process of ultrafiltration and pasteurization, which involves heating and passing it through a fine mesh, to ensure it remains runny at any temperature.
This strips away many of the unique chemicals and compounds that make it a nutritious and healing health food.
Even the word ‘organic’ on a label does not guarantee that a honey is raw.
Unless the jar specifies that it is raw, look for a cloudy honey with a white residue of pollen sitting on the top of the jar.
Raw honey might crystallize over time, but this is not a sign of rot – raw honey is a natural preservative.
The jar just needs to be submerged in a bowl of hot water for 15 minutes to liquefy the contents.
You should be able to find raw honey at most supermarkets.

Be Nobody But Yourself

The straight and narrow may be boring, but it is safe.

Sometimes we do things we don’t have to do, and sometimes we say things we don’t have to say.

It may be a small act of kindness, but it may make a big difference to someone’s life.

Sometimes the darkest night becomes the brightest morning.

Being sad with those who care is better than being happy with those who don’t.

As long as we live, we should keep on learning how to live.

To be nobody but yourself is one of the hardest battles in life.

The moment you accept yourself as you are is the moment you begin to enjoy life.

We Are All Of Us Stars

I’ve never fooled anyone.
I’ve let people fool themselves.
They didn’t bother to find out who and what I was.
Instead they would invent a character for me.
I wouldn’t argue with them.
They were obviously loving somebody I wasn’t.
(Marilyn Monroe)

Marilyn Monroe was a legend.
In her lifetime she created a myth of what a poor girl from a deprived background could attain.
For the entire world she became a symbol of the eternal feminine.
(Elizabeth Taylor)

We are all of us stars and we deserve to twinkle.

A Few Lifeless Chemicals Did Not Create Life

To make anything, a degree of intelligence is required.
A few lifeless chemicals, with no intelligence, not even a single brain cell, by chance or otherwise, could not have created life.

We live in a world surrounded by people pretending to be something they are not.

Don’t let anyone make you feel like you don’t deserve what you desire.

A strong man stands up for himself,
A stronger man stands up for others.

Don’t allow people to stay in your life if they don’t deserve to be.

We should all try and control our destiny, or someone else will.

If you can’t use time wisely, then waste time wisely.

I’ve Never Been One Of The Gang

When you know exactly where you want to go as an artist it works out for the best.
The most important lesson I have learned is to trust my instincts.
I listen to my gut and it’s usually God talking to me. It’s gotten me to where I am to this day.
(Kelly Rowland)

I was a parent’s dream.
I did well at school, went to college and got a good job and was doing very nicely.
Then, at the age of 26, I thought, “I am going to join the circus, I am going to be a comedian.”
(Jimmy Carr)

I’ve always been an outsider and I always will be.
I’ve never been one of the gang.
At school, there were Goths, New Romantics, Indie kids and Ravers, but I never fitted in with any of it.
I preferred to march to my own beat.
In many ways it set me up nicely for adulthood.
I never feel awkward about not fitting in.
I prefer to live on the periphery of things.
You get to see a lot more from that vantage point.

One Of The Most Brutal Architects Of The Nazi Regime

On a bright morning in May 1942, two men waited anxiously on a sharp bend in a road in Prague.
Although it was warm, one was carrying an overcoat over his arm.
That was because it concealed a sub-machine gun.
The other man was clutching a briefcase containing two bombs.
At 10:20, a large, open-top Mercedes appeared.
In the back seat sat a 38-year-old man wearing the uniform of an SS General.
With a long, prominent nose, blond hair and cold blue eyes, he looked the very model of Hitler’s supposed ‘master race’.
His name was Reinhard Heydrich, and he was one of the most brutal architects of the Nazi regime.
The waiting men were Czech secret agents sent from London.
As the Mercedes slowed to negotiate the bend, one of them leaped out in front of it and aimed his gun at Heydrich.
But instead of unleashing a fatal volley, the gun jammed.
Heydrich ordered his driver to stop, and drew out his pistol.
It was a foolish mistake because it gave the second agent an opportunity to hurl his two bombs.
Although neither scored a direct hit, the force of the explosion was enough to rupture Heydrich’s diaphragm, and for his spleen to be lacerated by shrapnel and horsehair from the car’s upholstery.
Heydrich survived the explosion, but contracted septicaemia from an infection in his wounds.
He slipped into a coma and died on June 4.
When his death was reported by the BBC the following day, the author Thomas Mann described Heydrich as ‘Hitler’s hangman’.

High Blood Pressure Raises The Risk Of Cancer

The millions of people who are suffering from high blood pressure are more likely to get cancer, scientists have found.
Both men and women run an increased risk with men’s chances of contracting cancer up to 20% higher.
Nearly 13 million Britons have high blood pressure raising men’s risk of oral, bowel, lung, skin, bladder and kidney cancers.
In women it is linked to more liver, pancreas, cervix, womb and skin cancer.
The scientists’ 12-year study analysed the health of almost 600,000 men and women from Norway, Sweden and Austria.
The study leader said: “Our study shows that blood pressure is a risk factor for incident cancer in men and fatal cancer in men and women”.
