Is ADHD Just A Label To Describe Restless Children?

Some doctors believe the big rise in the number of children said to have ADHD is a direct result of their parents’ right to claim disability benefit of up to £10,000 a year.
While critics believe ADHD is just a label to describe restless or naughty children, psychologists insist it is a real condition which applies when a child is persistently restless, to the point where it has a detrimental effect on their development.
Some adults are also affected.
The Government says that about a third of a million children aged between six and 16 suffer with the disorder.
ADHD was almost unheard of 20 years ago, but the number of prescriptions for Ritalin – the controversial drug which suppresses symptoms – has rocketed from 2,000 in 1991 to close to 350,000.

The Unspeakable Drugging Of Healthy Children

At last the monstrous myth of ‘ADHD’ and the unspeakable drugging of healthy children is being questioned.
It’s a small start, but the Association of Educational Psychologists is calling for a review into the use of Ritalin on children, many as young as five.
Not a moment too soon.
There are now nearly 700,000 prescriptions being handed out each year in the UK.
Which minister will risk the wrath of the mighty and spiteful Ritalin lobby by launching such an inquiry?

A Serious Medical Probe Into This Scandal Is Long Overdue

We are drugging an entire generation of kids to combat a questionable ailment.
Since 2006, the number of children being given Ritalin has soared by 50% to 660,000.
They’re dosed with this drug as a treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which many (including me) doubt exists.
Yet lobbyists for ADHD now claim three-quarters of kids with the “condition” have yet to be diagnosed.
That suggests 2.5 million children are so afflicted, which is clearly ridiculous.
A serious medical probe into this scandal is long overdue.

Why Are We Drugging More And More Of Our Children?

The number of children in the UK being given controversial hyperactivity drugs has soared by almost 50 % in four years.
Government figures show prescriptions for Ritalin and similar drugs last year rose to more than 660,000 from 450,000 in 2006.
These drugs are given to children diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and contain chemicals similar to speed and cocaine.
Some doctors dispute ADHD even exists and campaigners claim the condition is not medical, just children being naughty or bored or neglected by self-indulgent parents.

10 Year-Old Boy On ‘ADHD’ Drugs Commits Suicide

Let us hope and pray that some good comes from the unbearable death of ten-year-old Harry Hucknall, found hanged at his Cumbria home last September.
Somebody had ‘diagnosed’ this little boy with clinical depression and ‘ADHD’ and had prescribed an antidepressant and Ritalin.
The poor child had been horribly bullied at school.
His parents were separated.
He had moved home 14 times.
It is hardly surprising that he was unhappy.
Why on earth would anyone think that drugs were the answer?
West Cumbria Coroner Ian Smith said that Harry had been given ‘two powerful, mind-altering drugs’. He urged doctors to be ‘extremely careful in prescribing such medication’.
I congratulate him on his understatement.
Harry’s case became known because his cousin is a rock star.
How many other tragedies like this are going unreported?
We are long overdue for a proper inquiry into the prescribing of such drugs, especially to children.
Let it come soon, please.

Students Partying On ‘ADHD’ Drugs

A new kind of drug abuse is sweeping university campuses in North America, Canada and Austrailia and is expected to come to Britain.
Ritalin, Adderall, Concerta and other stimulant drugs that are used for ‘treating’ children diagnosed with the controversial disorder ‘ADHD’ have found a ready black market among students.
In Britain, drug agencies say reports suggest abuse of these drugs is just starting and British campuses should be prepared.

Some students have reported ‘ADHD drug’ parties where the drugs are crushed to a powder and snorted, giving the user an amphetamine-like boost.
But in most cases it has been used to help students stay awake during last-minute studying or while writing essays.

Research has shown that in some American schools up to a third of boys are on ADHD drugs although many of them do not have ‘ADHD’.
Parents are choosing to give the drug to their well-behaved but under-achieving children believing it will enhance their performance.
More than 8 million children in the US are said to be taking ADHD drugs.
Reports suggest that more than a million mothers in the US are having their children diagnosed with ‘ADHD’ so that they can use the drugs themselves.

The Drug Enforcement Administration has classified these drugs as a schedule II drug – comparable to Cocaine.
Reports claim that four children are dying every week in the US from ADHD drugs.
It is also claimed that many more have committed suicide or have attempted to commit suicide – one of the ‘side effects’ listed by the drug makers.
And our doctors continue to prescribe these psychotic drugs to children from the age of 5.

The UK and the US do not release figures for the number of children dying nor the number of children who have suffered from serious side effects.
I wonder why?
Is it because the drug makers ‘sponsor’ many of our medical facilities and organizations?

Children Are Dying From ADHD Drugs

Between 1990 and 2000 there were 186 child deaths in the US caused by drugs they were taking for ADHD.
Only 10% of institutions voluntarily reported to the FDA MedWatch program – the actual number during this period could be as high as 2000 – four children dying every week.
There have also been many reports that children taking ‘ADHD’ drugs have committed suicide or attempted to commit suicide.
The UK are not releasing figures for the number of children that are dying, nor are the US – I wonder why?

About 1.7 per cent of the UK population, mostly children, and mostly boys, are diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed with psychotropic drugs – classed as a Schedule II drug by The Drug Enforcement Administration and comparable to cocaine.
In the US, almost 8 million children are being ‘treated’ for ADHD.

We Should Be Ashamed Of Ourselves

Sick, evil paedophiles abuse (and murder) babies and children.
If caught, they spend a few years in prison and then let out to do the same again.
Children from the age of 5 are diagnosed with ‘ADHD’ – an illness invented in the 1980s by American drug companies – and then prescribed class B psychotic drugs, with horrific side effects, to cure their ‘hyperactivity’ and ‘lack of attention’.
Promiscuous, irresponsible, selfish women murder their unborn babies – depriving an innocent human being of a whole lifetime.
Animals don’t treat their babies, children and unborn like we do.
God must be ashamed of us.
We should be ashamed of ourselves.

The Fanatics Who Want To Drug Normal Children

The latest propaganda for the non-existent complaint ‘ADHD’ was torn to shreds on Radio 4’s Today programme by Oliver James, despite highly unhelpful interruptions by the presenter Justin Webb.
‘Evidence’ of a genetic link is nothing of the sort.
Even if it were, the fanatics who want to drug normal children and excuse our society’s selfish, horrible treatment of them, have to solve this problem.
How can you have a ‘genetic link’ to a complaint for which there is no objective diagnoses?
What is it linked to?

Bad Parenting Is To Blame

Scientists claim to have found a genetic cause for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which supposedly affects one in 50 UK children.
If further research provides conclusive proof of these findings, I will believe it is a brain disorder rather than a behavioural problem.
Until then, I will continue to believe that bad parenting is to blame.
Too many parents want to blame their lazy upbringing of children on this or that syndrome.
There always has to be a complex medical reason for kids behaving badly, not just a failure of their own responsibility.
Child psychiatrists totally refute the theory of genetic causation.
Clinical psychologist Oliver James makes a compelling case that high levels of cortisone, a function of parental care, are to blame.
