Some People Talk Through Their Nose

Breathe in the earthy scent of a cold, misty morning, and taste the fresh newness of Spring.

The dividing line between failure and success is so hard to cross that it’s no surprise I’m always on the wrong side of it.

We can hide our failure and our shame from others, but we cannot hide them from you.
You know what we have done, and you know how sorry we are.

It’s a mighty tough trouble that won’t melt a bit in a nice cup of tea.

Some people talk through their nose…
They have to… Because their mouth is worn out.

I don’t mind people having the last word…
It’s when they also have to have all the ones before it.

There’s always something in life to look forward to.

Everyone’s On Something In Hollywood

I’ve never envied the very rich.
I’d rather endure Shrek’s bog than a life of boarding-school buggery.
(Brian Reade)

Love your money, relish it and then put some of it back to relieve the misery of the less fortunate.
(Carole Ann Rice)

100,000 of the 155,000 homes in Britain worth more than £1 million are hidden in off-shore tax havens to escape paying stamp duties and capital gains tax.

Everyone’s on something there.
It’s the most medicated place, there’s a whole massive market for really addictive drugs.
(Sienna Miller, about Hollywood)

Three times more people are killed by police in Rio de Janeiro than in the whole of the United States.

I’ve had nothing but contempt for “magician” Paul Daniels since he failed to perform a disappearing act in 1997 after saying he’d leave the country if Labour came to power.
But he’s gone way up in my estimation after sawing his finger off.
Finally, after 21 months, we’ve got a Tory cut we can all cheer.
(Brian Reade)

Human beings fall into two categories.
Those who feel so lucky being where they are that they help others get there.
And those who think they should be somewhere else and curse others for stopping them.
(Brian Reade)

We run a company that recycles phones and we get a lot of people sending us broken phones.
We’ve had about 200 complaints, that’s all there is to tell really.

Don’t Bother To love Your Enemies

If you have a prune, and you tighten the prune, you don’t get a grape, you get a tight prune.
(Tracy Mountford, Cosmetic Skin Clinic)

I was not about to damage my hands, even on the deserving nose of the man who had caused me such emotional pain.
(Simon Boswell)

You can only do things you don’t believe in for a while before it takes a toll.
(Christina Ricci)

A weak justice system means that wrongdoers grow in strength.
(Peter Hitchens)

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a noise?

Don’t bother to love your enemies… Just treat those you love a little better.

As I’ve got older and less self-obsessed, I’m a lot more comfortable.
(Christina Ricci)

The nicest thing for me is sleep, than at least I can dream.
(Marilyn Monroe)

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m Possible’.
(Audrey Hepburn)

My tastes are simple… I am easily satisfied with the best.
(Winston S Churchill)

I generally avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it.
(Mae West)

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.
(Edgar Allan Poe)

I am not young enough to know everything.
(Oscar Wilde)

Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition.
(Marilyn Monroe)

I love sleep… my life has the tendency to fall apart when I’m awake.
(Ernest Hemingway)

Beneath the makeup and behind the smile I am just a girl who wishes for the world.
(Marilyn Monroe)

Solitude is one of the greatest things in life.
If you can master the art of being happy with your own company, your life becomes ten times easier.
It baffles me when I meet people who constantly need the company of others.
(Lisa Snowdon)

I still enjoy what I do – in fact, even more if anything.
The thing about turning 40 is I feel like I’ve had life experience and I know what I’m doing now.
I feel like the best days are ahead of me.

What Do You Truly Need In Life?

Be yourself… and if they don’t like it…
Then they know what they can do.

Peoples’ lives are at stake… so make sure you recognise the difference between gossip and malice.

Life is not about acquiring things… it’s about something much bigger.

Find the energy for what needs to be done…
The impossible is about to become possible.

Do not be concerned with the past… look forward…
Be positive about the future… have faith.

Focus on the things that make you feel good… and what you are good at… that’s where satisfaction is found.

Think about ways you can improve your quality of life…
Stop worrying about material things… say what you feel.

Others may not approve of the way you lead your life…
But it’s not their life, is it.

Happiness is when reality is just as wonderful as your dreams.

Follow Your Own Path And Be True To Yourself

I don’t like anything that has to do with working physically.
If it involves sitting down or shopping, then I’m excellent at it.
(Serena Williams)

I don’t feel bad about any of the things I’ve done and gone through, whether it’s divorce, break-ups or anything like that, because it’s all part of life’s journey.
(Reese Witherspoon)

While it’s very nice to be noticed, I’m not seduced by fame.
What I want is for my music to be remembered.
That’s what one of my heroines Nina Simone achieved for herself and no way could you call her an artist who was always on the airwaves.
These days nothing lasts.
Music is like fast food – you’re in, then out.
We choose and consume, feast and forget, then rush on to the next hot thing.
There’s no point chasing that kind of success because it’s so transient.
Far better to follow your own path and be true to yourself.
(Emeli Sande)

It’s definitely every woman’s fantasy to have two hot, sexy guys battling over you.
But I don’t think it happens too often in real life.
(Reese Witherspoon)

Our Friends May Seem Strong

If aliens decide to visit us, the outcome might be similar to when Europeans arrived in America.
That did not turn out well for the Native Americans.
(Professor Stephen Hawking)

All men’s souls are immortal, but the souls of the righteous are immortal and divine.
(Socrates)

Those who say money can do anything, don’t have any.
If they don’t have any, they don’t buy things they don’t really need.

Having good and beautiful and happy memories…
But nobody to share them with.

The sooner we realise how trivial some things are, the sooner we will be able to move on to things that make us feel better.

Our friends may seem strong… But they may have problems and worries they don’t talk about…
And they may cry themselves to sleep at night.

Don’t promise anything you might not be able to deliver… Better still, don’t promise anything at all.

Be Strong And Keep The Best

Trying to forget our bad memories is sometimes more difficult than remembering the good ones.

Listen and make time for others, as you expect others to listen and make time for you.

Some things in life are not meant to be… accept it, let go, move on, and look forward.

Money doesn’t change people, it reveals who they really are.

Our home is where we can laugh and cry and feel comfortable, where our feet may leave, but not our hearts.

In dreams, there are no limits, no boundaries, no routines, no rules, no obstacles… just love and adventure.

When you realise not many things matter much, you can move on to something that makes better use of the talents you were born with.

Good or bad, happy or sad, sometimes the past comes rushing back… be strong and keep the best, and throw back all the rest.

My Life Is The Only One I Have

I think loving your life is probably the secret of looking good.
(Eva Cavalli)

I don’t have any regrets whatsoever because it has been my life… I’ve been very privileged, I’m lucky and I’m still alive.
(Helen Baxendale)

I am finally waking up to the fact that life is here to be lived… it is the only one I have.
(Liz Jones)

I have a heart defect – but I don’t let the condition rule my life.
As I’ve got older I’ve learnt to listen to my body more.
In 2007, doctors found that I have a bicuspid valve, which means my heart needs to work harder in order to function.
Around the same time, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
They were two major wake-up calls.
In my own case, I felt as if my body was shouting at me, pleading with me to slow down a bit.
It’s just something that I need to monitor, and I have to get regular scans.
It might deteriorate, it might not.
If it does then I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
(Edith Bowman)

Lily Allen tweeted that I was a trollop.
That was hard to take, especially as I’d never even met her.

In Dreams We Can Wish Anything To Happen

Dreams can give us more pleasure than reality…
In dreams we can go beyond reality…
We can go anywhere we please.

Those with regrets stay down on the ground.
Those with no regrets reach up for the stars.

Evolution starts after life…
Evolution did not create life.

When we have found our gift in life, and our purpose…
Then it is our duty to give it away.

In dreams no reasons are necessary… we can wish anything to happen… we don’t need to apologise… there are no rules… there are no limits.

If we don’t keep our feet on the ground… there is no knowing where we might be swept off to.
