A Mum Is Special.
The closest friend and confidante
Always there to lend a hand.
Someone to rely on
Who you know will understand.
Someone full of good advice
Who doesn’t claim to know it all.
Someone who will catch you
However far you fall.
Someone who will love you
No matter what you’ve done.
Someone who is always there,
That’s what makes a mum.

Memories Of You.
Memories of you we’ll always treasure

Of happy days we spent together.
Always a smile so warm and true
Are the loving memories we have of you.
The angels came and took you away
But in our hearts you’ll always stay.

It Takes A Mother’s Love.
It takes a mother’s love to make a house a home
A place to be remembered, no matter where we roam.
It takes a mother’s patience to bring a child up right
And her courage and her cheerfulness to make a dark day bright.
It takes a mother’s thoughtfulness to mend the heart’s deep hurts
And her skill and her endurance to mend little socks and shirts.
It takes a mother’s kindness to forgive us when we err
To sympathise in trouble and bow her head in prayer.
It takes a mother’s wisdom to recognise our needs
And to give us reassurance by her loving words and deeds.

The Children Of The Towns.
They never see a foal, a pig, a cow, a field of wheat.
Their stunted minds are starved, their education incomplete.
Because they never see the gold of buttercups in May
Or hear a lark make angel music on a lovely day.
Pity them, who never walk the woods or climb the downs.
The lost, the disinherited. The children of the towns.

Here To Stay.
Our children are here to stay
But our babies are not, I’m sorry to say.
They grow and learn everyday
In the most remarkable and intriguing way.
Cherish the little moments so tender and sweet
They grow so quickly you can barely speak.
But remember this, as I reassure you with a tear in my eye
Babies are your children and your children will never say ‘Good Bye’.

A Prayer For Your Young Child.
Dear God I pray he’s treated right

And protected from all that gives him fright.
Help him learn from his mistakes
And never give him more then he can take.
Give him all the love he needs
And bless him with the joy that makes him free.
Save him from the pain life brings
And make his little heart sing.
Please God don’t let the world take it away
It’s too precious to let decay.
So God I beg you please,
Protect him from what he sees.
Let him see life in a different light
Let him see darkness as a starry night.
So God please, make his heart very strong
And spread to the world his happy song.

Send Me A Kiss.
Hey kids. Remember me?
I’m the lady with the Christmas tree.
I’m the lady with the beard and sack.
Waved you off and hugged you back.
Packed your bags and waited up.
Bought you a bicycle. Bought you a pup.
Kissed you better and blew your noses
Bottled you jam and picked you roses.
Legs gone shaky. Stuck in a chair.
Not too sure about when or where.
Don’t quite know how I got like this.
Send me a letter. Send me a kiss.
