We consume the carcasses of creatures of like appetites, passions and organs with our own and fill the slaughterhouses daily with screams of fear and pain.
( Robert Louis Stevenson )

Although fur farming was banned in the UK in 2000, Britain has imported at least £650million worth of fur since then, according to Humane Society International UK.
The majority of the fur comes from farms overseas, including from China and eastern Europe.

The disgusting, blood-soaked ‘meat’ industry is concerned only with one thing.
Maximising profit, regardless of people’s health, and the social or environmental costs.

Nothing more strongly arouses our disgust than cannibalism, yet we make the same impression on Buddhists and vegetarians, for we feed on babies, though not our own.
( Robert Louis Stevenson )

In their behaviour towards animals, farmers and the ‘meat’ industry are Nazis.

Cock-fighting was illegal in Oklahoma, USA until 1963, when a judge ruled that chickens are not animals and therefore unprotected by anti-cruelty laws.

The problem with experiments has always been that human beings make the decisions on whether or not the animals have benefited from the treatment.
( James Randi )

We humans don’t even give token acknowledgement to the fact that we push animals off their lands.
We are the thieves and trespassers, not they.

Wildlife animals are being forced to live in closer proximity with humans.
With few alternatives available, they have no choice but to enter our towns, our gardens, and our parks, in search of food and shelter.

Animals Are Forced To Rely On Humans To Survive ..
In a perfect world, animals would be free to live their lives to the fullest.
Raising their young, enjoying their native environments and following their natural instincts.
However, domesticated dogs and cats cannot survive free in our concrete jungles, so we must take as good care of them as possible.
People with the time, money, love and patience to make a lifetime commitment to an animal can make an enormous difference by adopting from shelters or rescuing animals from a perilous life on the street.
But it is also important to stop manufacturing pets, thereby perpetuating a class of animals forced to rely on humans to survive.

( PETA )

Every year, humans slaughter over ten times more chickens, cows and pigs for ‘food’ than there are people on Earth.

We vegans care about what we put in our bodies, and we don’t want animals to suffer for it.
( Rose Winfold )

If God created animals for us to eat, why did He make them with a brain attached to a central nervous system that allows them to feel pain in the same ways we do?

Cruelty has cursed the human family for countless ages.
It is almost impossible for one to be cruel to animals and kind to humans.
If children are permitted to be cruel to their pets and other animals, they easily learn to get the same pleasure from the misery of fellow-humans.
Such tendencies can easily lead to crime.

( Frederic A. McGrand )

Standing up for the voiceless and what you believe in takes courage in a world determined to mock you for it.

Eating ‘Doctored’ Meat Is A Serious Health Risk ..
Animals in factory farms are injected with hormones and other chemicals to improve the output of meat.
A cow who weighs 400 pounds is more valuable than one who weighs 300 pounds.
Consequently, these animals become unhealthy, lame, and despondent.
The products you find on your store shelves are optimised for taste.
They include ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, added salt, and monosodium glutamate.
For food aesthetics, they’re unnaturally dyed.
There is nothing natural or healthy when you eat ‘doctored’ animal flesh.
In fact, eating ‘meat’ has become a serious health risk.

If your happiness depends on the suffering of others just so you can eat them, you need to find a new happiness.

The beef industry has contributed to more American deaths than all the wars of this century, all natural disasters and all automobile accidents combined.
If beef is your idea of real food for real people, you’d better live real close to a real good hospital.

( Neal D. Barnard, M.D. )

How arrogant and how ignorant we are in believing we have the right and the authority to decide who is worthy of life.

‘Meat’ eaters are similar to drug addicts.
They will say anything to excuse and justify their habit, even if it’s hurting them and hurting others.

Results from animal tests are not transferable between species and therefore cannot guarantee product safety for humans.
In reality these tests do not provide protection for consumers from unsafe products, but rather they are used to protect corporations from legal liability.

( Herbert Gundersheimer, M.D. )

The majority of people have been desensitised and are so naive they genuinely have no idea of the horrors that take place in the meat industry, every moment of every day.

A Dangerous Level Of Antibiotics Used On Factory Farms In Asia ..
The use of antibiotics in factory farms in Asia is set to more than double in just over a decade, with potentially damaging effects on antibiotic resistance around the world.
Factory farming of poultry in Asia is also increasing the threat of bird flu spreading beyond the region, with more deadly strains taking hold, according to a new report from a network of financial investors.
Use of antibiotics in poultry and pig farms will increase by more than 120% in Asia by 2030, based on current trends.
Half of all antibiotics globally are now consumed in China alone.
The growth of Asian meat production in intensive units is also producing a rise in greenhouse gas emissions from the food chain, with emissions likely to rise by more than 360million tonnes, the equivalent of running 100 coal-fired power plants for a year.
There are knock-on impacts such as deforestation, as China’s need for animal feed is responsible for more than a third of Brazil’s soybean production.

( Fiona Harvey, 14.08.2017 )

When I was twelve, I went hunting with my father and we shot a bird.
He was laying there and something struck me.
Why do we call this fun to kill this creature who was as happy as I was when I woke up this morning?

( Marv Levy )

Humans .. The only animal in the world to fear.

An animal’s life has been sacrificed to bring you a meal.

Those who abuse and mistreat animals, those who work in slaughterhouses, are always found to be of low intelligence and morally deficient.
( Rose Winfold )

The attitude of the farmer and the medical research scientist is,
“Nothing matters but the convenience of man.”

Diseases From Factory Farms May End Up On Your Plate ..
Chickens, cows, pigs, turkeys, and other sentient creatures are brought into this world by humans with no purpose other than to be brutally killed.
As factory farming becomes more efficient, more animals are killed within shorter time periods.
Factory farming efficiency results in the pain, degradation, and slaughter of millions of animals.
The animals are forced to live in squalid conditions that result in severe injury, debilitating disease, no social outlet, no fresh air, and other depravities.

No animal deserves to be treated so cruelly, yet that’s how these companies make their huge profits.
Commercial factory farms take up land we could use for housing, reforestation, and enabling the natural lives of animals indigenous to various parts of the world.
Much of the grain production goes toward feeding the animals who are eventually slaughtered rather than into vegetarian and vegan products that humans could consume.
Factory farms and slaughterhouses are rife with bacteria and other germs.
Animals stand in their own filth, suffer from untreated disease, and pass diseases easily due to close quarters and continuous confinement.
Those diseases can easily wind up on your plate.

The suffering which some people deliberately inflict upon animals is beyond the understanding of all good, decent people.

Anyone who tries to improve the lives of animals invariably comes in for criticism from those who believe such efforts are misplaced in a world of suffering humanity.
( Jane Goodall )

Why do so many people believe themselves to be superior to other sentient beings by thinking their palate pleasure is more important than their lives.

Animals should not require the permission from humans to live on Earth .

The Endless Suffering That Supports Our Society ..
At the moment our human world is based on the suffering and destruction of millions of non-humans.
To perceive this and to do something to change it in personal and public ways is to undergo a change of perception akin to a religious conversion.
Nothing can ever be seen in quite the same way again because once you have admitted the terror and pain of other species you will, unless you resist conversion, be always aware of the endless permutations of suffering that support our society.

( Sir Arthur Conan Doyle )

The Will Of A Dog ..
When I die, please do not say, “I will never have another pet.”
Instead, go and find an unloved shelter dog, one whose life has held no joy or hope, and give my place to him.
The place I had in my human’s loving heart, my happy home, my cosy bed, and all my toys.

If any kid realised what was involved in factory farming, they would never touch meat again.
I was so moved by the intelligence, sense of fun and personality of the animals I worked with on Babe that by the end of the film I was a vegetarian.

( James Cromwell )

If your personal choices have a victim.
It is no longer a personal choice.

Man has been endowed with reason, with the power to create, so that he can add to what he’s been given.
But up to now he hasn’t been a creator, only a destroyer.
Forests keep disappearing, rivers dry up, wild lifes become extinct, the climate’s ruined and the land grows poorer and uglier every day.

( Anton Chekhov )

You say a vegan diet is extreme, but when I search for videos of your ‘food’ being produced, I see ‘Graphic Content’ warnings.

The art of angling, the cruelest, the coldest and the stupidest of pretended sports.
( Lord George Gordon Byron )

The majority of the population are either deluded or just don’t care about the suffering and the killing.

I despise and abhor the pleas on behalf of that infamous practice, vivisection.
I would rather submit to the worst of deaths, so far as pain goes, than have a single dog or cat tortured to death on the pretence of sparing me a twinge or two.
( Robert Browning )

Please Don’t Harm Me Or My Family ..
I am America’s only native marsupial.
I am an Opossum.

Some people think I look like a rat, but I am more closely related to the kangaroo and koala bears, who are also marsupials.
I clean up your environment, eat ticks, and keep snakes away.
If you leave out food, I will eat it.
I get hungry too.
I don’t have an easy life, so if you can leave table scraps and water outside for me, that would be a great help for me and my family.

I may look scary, but I don’t have rabies, and I will do you no harm.
Please don’t harm me or my family.

What I think about vivisection is that if people admit that they have the right to take or endanger the life of living beings for the benefit of many, there will be no limit to their cruelty.
( Leo Tolstoy )

When they say :
“Please, I don’t want to watch or know about the way animals suffer to become food on my plate.”
What they really mean is :
“Please don’t tell me, because I want to keep continuing what I do, and I do not want to sacrifice my pleasure for their pain.”

Eating meat is the most disgusting thing I can think of.
It’s like biting into your grandmother.
( Morrissey )

If you care about ‘farm’ animals, or wildlife, or your health, or the planet, or the lakes and rivers and oceans, or the rainforests, are just a few of the minor reasons for being a vegan or vegetarian.

If man wants freedom, why keep birds and animals in cages?
Truly, man is the king of beasts, for his brutality exceeds them.
We live by the death of others. We are burial places.
I have since an early age abjured the use of meat.
( Leonardo da Vinci, 1452 – 1519 )

Hiding behind culture, tradition, or religious rituals to justify the torture and the murder of innocent animals are heinous acts by cowards, worthless lumps of human nothingness.

Should Children Be Taken On School Trips To Abattoirs? ..
TV star Ellie Harrison has called for children to be taken on school trips to abattoirs so they can see where their meat really comes from.
The Countryfile host believes the visits would let pupils decide whether they still want to eat meat.
Ellie said, “To my knowledge, there are no abattoirs open to the public or school trips.
I think it’s a shame.
It’s the last connection to our food that’s missing amid the resurgence of interest in food provenance.”
Despite fronting a programme about farming, Ellie revealed she often struggles with eating meat.
She told Countryfile Magazine, “Pigs I’ve observed have traits of intelligence on a par with dogs.
Lambs are uncomfortably young when they go to slaughter and it’s noted at the market shed that ewes mourn for several nights.
Am I ok with that? No.”

( Tom Bryant, 09.04.2016 )

If you want to drink milk, then baby animals have to die.
The choice is that simple.
The choice is yours.

Go to a slaughterhouse and tell them why their lives have no value.

There are two hells.
One humans fear and one animals endure.

( Rose Winfold )

If every meal you eat involves the misery and suffering of animals.
Then in what sense are you leading a compassionate life?

He who slaughters an ox is like one who kills a man.
He who sacrifices a lamb, like one who breaks a dog’s neck.
He who presents a grain offering, like one who offers pig’s blood.
He who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol.
These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.
( Isaiah 66.3 )
