Like His Mother Used To Do ..
He didn’t like the casserole
And he didn’t like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn’t make the coffee right
He didn’t like my stew
I didn’t fold his pants
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue
Then I turned around
And smacked the shit out of him
Just like his mother used to do.

This Is Me ..
I am not an extraordinary girl
I laugh at silly things
And cry when I hear sad songs.
I struggle each day because
I have my own battles to fight
I suffer each day because
I have scars on my heart.
At times I feel lonely and left out
But I’m my own story
And I won’t fit in any mould
That already exists.
I don’t need a label or a tag
To describe who I am.
I will remain true to my spirit
And religiously follow my heart.

A Single Smile Like Mine ..
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I walked around the corner and someone saw me grin..
When he smiled I realised, I had passed it on to him.
I thought about the smile, and then realised its worth..
A single smile like mine, could travel around the earth.

Tor Rah Chuck ..
Today ‘Cilla the singer’, will sadly be laid to rest
At St Mary’s Village Church, where her marriage was happily blessed.
Her beloved family and friends, will privately bear the public pain
As grief’s dagger pierces their hearts, again and again and again.
They’ll sing special loving words, through uncontrollable tears
As their heartbeats of emotion, loudly pound inside their ears.
‘Blind Date’ fans with closed eyes, can hear her saying, “Good luck”
Millions will whisper fondly, their final farewell… “Tor Rah Chuck”.

A Best Friend ..
You make me laugh until my cheeks ache
And my eyes are running with tears.
You listen to all my ramblings
My hopes, my dreams and my fears.
If I’m feeling down, then you show me
That life has a sunnier side
And I know I can always confide in you
And say what I’m feeling inside.
Thank you for always being
All the good things a best friend should be.
I hope we stay friends forever
Because you mean so much to me.

The Art Of Conversation ..
The pen once mightier, than the sword
Has now been replaced, by the electronic keyboard.
Our complicated language, teens have simplified
Single letters for expressions, make the elderly mystified.
Grammar’s often inaccurate, punctuation a disgrace
Apostrophes are often missed, or put in the wrong place.
Many can’t compose a letter, or even a vital C.V.
Instead they play computer games, and continually watch TV.
Perhaps communication lessons, need to be intensified
Before ‘The art of conversation’, disappears before our eyes.
At least we can go on Twitter, for amusing comments and views
And know we’ll get the latest, global scandal, gossip and news.

Thinking Of You ..
Think of a warm smile
A thoughtfulness shown.
Think of your friends
And whenever you do
Remember that they are
Thinking of you.

Rhythm Of Life ..
We have moved on and everything is changed
I am no longer sad, I don’t weep for you.
In still moments I see you solitary, reflective
Running with the wind along the waterfront with your Walkman on.
Radio-waves carry words of a song we shared
And I am free to smile at the thought of you.
Big and handsome the scent of you
Like a powerful beast lingers untamed by this world.
I know you still swim with dolphins in the cold North Sea
I know you still laugh and drink wine with friends.
I know you live by the seasons and time is not your enemy,
The clock is silent
I don’t weep for you.. I weep for me.
