Dozens of Palestinians were shot dead by the Israeli military near an aid distribution site in Gaza according to Palestinian officials and eyewitnesses.
The Palestinian health ministry, hospital officials and half-dozen eyewitnesses said the Israeli military was responsible for the gunfire.
Palestinian officials said 31 Palestinians had been killed.
The incident is the latest in which Palestinians have been killed while attempting to receive aid from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a controversial U.S.-backed mechanism to distribute aid to the embattled and hungry enclave after a months-long Israeli blockade.
The GHF has been criticised by the United Nations and others, who warn it risks further displacing Palestinians and endangering civilians.
The health ministry said that more than 200 casualties had reached hospitals, including dozens with serious injuries.
It added that all those killed had been shot in the head or chest.

He has since been released from custody on $10,000 bail after an initial court appearance, and allowed to return to Israel.

Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian-American teenager and wounded two others in the illegally-occupied West Bank.
The Israeli military said it targeted a group throwing stones at cars.
Ramallah governor Laila Ghannam said the 14-year-old Palestinian-American boy was shot dead by Israeli troops in the village of Turmusaya.
Two other Palestinian-American boys, ages 14 and 15, were injured in the incident.
The injured boys were shot in the abdomen.
One severely injured boy and another with minor wounds were taken to a hospital in Ramallah.
The killing of a Palestinian-American teenager came just hours before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed in the United States to meet President Donald Trump.

Britain’s Foreign Office met privately with a pro-Israel lobbyist to discuss arms exports to Tel Aviv.
The meeting took place in October 2024 and was attended by Christian Turner, the political director at the Foreign Office, and Sir Trevor Chinn, a pro-Israel businessman from Britain.
Chinn, who made a fortune from the motor industry, has donated significant sums to Keir Starmer and foreign secretary David Lammy.
Transparency data published by the UK government initially said the purpose of the meeting was “to discuss geopolitics with a businessman”.
But documents obtained by Declassified under the Freedom of Information Act reveal that the discussion instead concentrated on Britain’s arms exports to Israel.

The Killing Of Journalists In Gaza Is No Accident.
A new documentary on the murder of American-Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh reveals that Israeli soldiers use her photo for target practice.
This exposes the Israeli mentality that journalists are “fair game”, and that the killing of journalists in Gaza is no accident.
This is one of the revelations in the newly released Zeteo documentary “Who Killed Shireen.”
The film exposes previously unreported details around the murder of the famous Al Jazeera journalist by an Israeli sniper in Jenin on May 11, 2022, including the identity of the sniper who assassinated Abu Akleh.
It also reveals how the Biden administration knew from the very beginning, via an Israeli general, that it was an Israeli soldier who shot her, but they acted as if they knew nothing, and made any investigations classified so as to obscure the story.

The Emergence Of Zionism.
Formally established by Theodor Herzl in 1897, he argued that the Jews would never be free from persecution as long as they were foreigners everywhere, and thus they needed their own state.
A number of locations were discussed, but by the time of the first meeting of the World Zionist Organisation in 1897, the movement had settled on Palestine.
This, however, was problematic because the region at that time was under control of the Ottoman Empire and was populated primarily by Muslim and Christian Arabs.
Somehow, the Zionist Jews would have to wrest control of Palestine away from the Ottoman Turks and then drive out the Arabs.
It was a seemingly impossible task.
They immediately understood that this could only be done by force.
It would take a condition of global distress – something approaching a world war – for the Zionists to manipulate things to their advantage.

A new analysis by the UK’s public broadcaster has revealed that the BBC’s coverage of Israel’s genocide in Gaza is “systematically biased against Palestinians.”
The analysis “reveals a systematic omission of key historical and contemporary context that has acquired an institutional quality at the BBC”, including the genocidal rhetoric used by Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog, and a failure to scrutinise Israeli claims and denials.
Just 0.5% of BBC articles mentioned Israel’s decades-long illegal occupation of the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem.
According to the analysis, the BBC pressed a total of 38 interviewees to condemn Hamas’s 7 October operation, but at no point applied the equivalent questioning to Israeli attacks in Gaza.
BBC presenters have referred to “Hamas-controlled Gaza”, despite Israeli forces now controlling more than half of the Palestinian enclave.

The UK Is Still Sharing Military Intelligence With Israel.
Britain’s defence secretary, John Healey, walked through oncoming traffic to escape questions about why the UK is still sharing military intelligence with Israel.
Healey told Declassified he had “nothing more to add” about the hundreds of Royal Air Force (RAF) surveillance flights over Gaza.
The flights have continued despite Keir Starmer’s government placing sanctions on two far-right Israeli ministers whose roles include national security and defence.
