The only way that the majority of politicians can help the people is by pulling their head out of their arse.

The misery here now, and the misery that lies ahead for millions, is entirely the consequences of nearly 12 years of deliberate and wilful destruction by the Tories.

A nation that spends more money on weapons of war than any other nation.
A nation that has killed more innocent civilians in its wars over the last fifty years than all other nations combined.
A nation that has ten times the number of animals waiting to be slaughtered than there are people in the world.
A nation that isn’t just a warmonger with the word ‘peace’ not in their vocabulary, but is a danger to all living beings on our planet.
Yes, you guessed, the USA.

The Suffering In Afghanistan And Yemen Is Pushed Aside.
The people in Ukraine are suffering, we are shown videos 24/7 of interviews with parents and families, many countries are offering them refuge, and hundreds of charities are begging for donations.

But no videos, scarce reporting, no offers of refuge, and only a few charities that cover the disaster in Afghanistan, where dozens of children, mostly under the age of 5, are dying every week of starvation.
The same applies to the conflict in Yemen, where over 10,000 children have been killed in the last seven years and five million are starving to death.
It does seem that some politicians, and some leaders, attach themselves to the conflicts and the atrocities in the hope it will boost their popularity with speeches and photo opportunities, and which will raise their already inflated ego and feeling of self-importance.

I have never voted for the Tories and I didn’t vote for Brexit.
So none of this shit is my fault.

We need to stop focusing on dates and numbers and actually accept and acknowledge the fact that we need to reduce our emissions right now.
We can talk about 2030 or 2040 as much as we want.
But it is what we are doing now that really matters.

Israeli Military Detention System On Palestinian Children.
An Israeli boy throws a stone from a settlement at a Palestinian child.
In the unlikely event that he is arrested, he will be bailed.
If he is questioned, it will be with full safeguards.
If he is prosecuted, it will be before a juvenile court, with his parents and a lawyer present.
If convicted, he will be dealt with in the community under the supervision of a professional probation service.
Juvenile justice in Israel ticks all the boxes.
The Palestinian boy throws the stone back.
In the small hours of the morning soldiers of the Israel Defence Force burst into his home, terrify the family, seize the child and transport him, hooded or blindfolded and face down on the floor of a military vehicle, his hands bound, across the border which separates the occupied territory of the West Bank from the state of Israel.
There, in military custody, with no access to parents or a lawyer, he may be kept in isolation for days.
He will be shouted at, threatened and possibly struck by an interrogator who wants the names of other children.
He will be required to sign a confession, often in a language he doesn’t understand.
If he eventually sees a lawyer, he will be advised that there is no point in pleading not guilty because practically everyone before the military juvenile courts is convicted.
It may be months, even years, before he sees his family again, and when he does he may well be permanently damaged.
( Save the Children report, May/June 2020 )

Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong.
When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted.
It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance.
And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalise, ignore and even deny anything that doesn’t fit in with the core belief.

Nations who suck-up to, and support and defend, a nation rooted in oppression, despotism, apartheid and illegal occupation, are no different than a slave who defends his master.

Who Is Civilised And Who Is Not?
The narrative that only white people deserve peace and security is all the more shameful because the global south suffers from war and privation as a direct result of US/NATO actions.

It is NATO that destroyed the nation of Libya, NATO which attempted to do the same in Syria, NATO that occupied Afghanistan, NATO which wages war across African countries with US, French and British troops deployed across the continent.
The white world causes suffering and then says that the people of the global south are “uncivilised” with no rights that need to be respected.
A Watson Institute of Brown University study showed that more than 37 million people in North Africa, Western and Central Asia, and the Horn of Africa have been displaced by the US and its allies since 2001.
The humanitarian disasters begun years ago are ongoing, as refugees use the Mediterranean and even the US border with Mexico as points of escape.
After experiencing wars of aggression these nations are then subjected to punishment as the United States steals Afghanistan’s assets and keeps Syria under the thumb of Caesar Sanctions.
These thefts cause more suffering and even death as nations are robbed of the ability to care for their people.
Who is civilised and who is not?

Imagine how strong and healthy our country would be if the government spent all their time working for the people instead of working in second jobs and working for the wealthy elite who bung them gifts and donations.

We’ve been conditioned to think that only politicians can solve our problems.
But at some point, maybe we will wake up and recognise that it was politicians who created our problems.

This Time They’ve Gone Straight For The Cash.
The U.S. seized Libyan assets and haven’t given them back.
The Bank of London seized all of Venezuela’s gold there, valued at $1.95billion, and the U.S. seized all their oil properties here in the U.S., all in the name of sanctions.
The U.S. captured four Iranian oil tankers on their way from Iran to Venezuela, both sanctioned nations, then sold the $40million worth of oil they were carrying and said the money would go to U.S. victims of terrorism.
But actually seizing Afghanistan’s $7billion may still be the most brazen of these outright robberies yet.
Usually Western capitalists steal the resources of developing nations, or entrap them in debt, then give a small fraction back in the form of “aid,” but this time they’ve gone straight for the cash.

War is when young people, who don’t know each other and don’t hate each other, are ordered to kill each other by politicians who know and hate each other but don’t kill each other.

The U.S. And The UK Have Set The Rules.
For a long time the U.S. and the UK have set the rules of how international trade and finance work.

They granted themselves great privilege and the results are what we are seeing.
Now the U.S. has banned Russia from international banking transactions for invading Ukraine, and blocked it from the SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Transactions) system, which allows banks to rapidly relay information about financial transactions to one another.
Without this, banks in one country have been only minimally able to do business with the rest of the world, but now, in response, the Russian and Chinese governments are escalating the development of their own financial information networks, Russia’s SPFS (System for Transfer of Financial Messages) and China’s CIPS (Cross-Border Interbank Payment System).
And Iran particularly, but also Russia and China, have engaged in some forms of barter.
The U.S.’s own misuse of power is at the same time making the U.S. government nervous about the possibility that China may move ahead in a few decades and use similar tactics against U.S. interests.

A message for journalists:
If someone says they did that, and they say no we didn’t, they did, it’s not your job to take sides.
Your job is to find out who is telling the truth.
And if someone says it’s raining, and someone says it’s dry, it’s not your job to quote them both.
Your job is to look out the fucking window and find out which is true.

The U.S.A. see themselves as the Police Commanders of the world and see Europe as the Police Officers who carry out their orders.

Did The U.S. President Lie About Drug Users?
Why the war on drug users?
You want to know what this was really about?
We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black.
But by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroine, and then criminalising both heavily, we could disrupt those communities.
Did we know we were lying about the drugs?
Of course we did.
( John Ehrlichman, Counsel and Assistant to U.S. President Nixon )

So many people believe they are fully informed as to what is going on when their source is just a well organised script from a media controlled by the government and the wealthy elite.

If Vladimir Putin is described as a war criminal, thug, dictator, and a modern day Hitler, it is appropriate and indeed necessary to ask about American presidents.
For brevity’s sake consider only those American presidents who served since 2001.
U.S. invasions and interventions in western Asia, North Africa, central Asia and the Horn of Africa have displaced more than 37 million people since the “war on terror” began.
Why shouldn’t George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden be called war criminals too?
Silence in the face of their criminality gives license and approval to U.S. aggressions.

U.S. Interference In The Ukraine Government.
A recording of a telephone call between Victoria Nuland and the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt on January 28, 2014, was posted on YouTube.
Nuland and Pyatt discussed who they thought should or shouldn’t be in the next Ukrainian government and their opinion of various Ukrainian political figures.

Have you noticed that the Conservative Party have never held rallies or protests to save the NHS, to stop war, to end child poverty, to end homelessness, to increase benefits for the disabled and the vulnerable.
In fact, they have never held rallies or protests.
Why? .. Because they don’t give a shit.

Public opinion must be controlled in order for the people to accept the government’s agendas.

Even Perpetrators Of Outright Theft Escape Indictment And Prosecution.
How did the Bank of England seize $1.95billion of Venezuela’s gold?
Venezuela’s gold was held at the Bank of England.
That made it easy for the UK to seize it for any dubious reason they could come up with.
Why didn’t Venezuela store their gold in a Venezuelan bank?
Venezuelan banks could not provide the minimum security for such huge gold reserves.
Most developing countries have their gold reserves in the Bank of England.
In part because of the colonial heritage, as part of those gold reserves were already in London, or because London was the financial centre of the world before it was superseded by New York City.
Well, it obviously wasn’t any more secure at the Bank of England.
They seized it and gave control to Juan Guaidó, the U.S-appointed flunkey pretending to be the President of Venezuela.
He and Nicolás Maduro, the legitimate President of Venezuela, went to UK courts about it and a lower court decided in favour of Maduro, but the UK Supreme Court then agreed to hear Guiadó’s appeal and ruled in his favour at the end of January.
It seems that possession is now 9/10ths of the law, to use the legal phrase.
Even perpetrators of outright theft escape indictment and prosecution.
The U.S. practice of imposing its own rules in the international arena has always been part of what superpowers do.
And the U.S. and the UK work together in this.

There are often three sides to every story.
Theirs, the others, and the truth.
( Rose Winfold )

The Planet Is Our Mother.
The way we see the world shapes the way we treat it.
If a mountain is a deity, not a pile of ore.
If a forest is a sacred grove, not timber.
If other species are biological kin, not resources.
Or if the planet is our mother, not an opportunity.
Then we will treat each other with greater respect.
Thus is the challenge, to look at the world from a different perspective.

The people will not revolt.

We have a Prime Minister who is a serial liar and a government who supports his lies, yet we are told not to believe anything the Chinese or the Russians say.

The corporate media have joined the state in an extraordinary effort to create war propaganda.
They deliberately tug at heartstrings and demand solidarity with Ukraine because the truth is very unpalatable.
Instead of standing with Ukraine, Americans should stand with humanity across the world.
If they did they would be better able to understand why there are wars in Europe or anywhere else.

The only thing more annoying than the propaganda and the misinformation and the deliberate lies our government spew are the fools and the idiots stupid enough to believe them.

The Ukraine-Russian conflict is very convenient for UK Prime Minister Johnson.
Plenty of opportunities for photos and speech-making to boost his already inflated ego and self-importance, and something to deflect from all the shit, corruption and misery he’s responsible for at home.

The Word “Whataboutism” Is Used To Silence Opponents of U.S. Imperialism.
Anyone who speaks out against imperialism, capitalism, or racism with concrete examples of the terrible harm they do, can expect to be charged with the dreaded term “whataboutism.”
Like clockwork, the act of revealing American crimes will result in an accusation that is used to silence dissent.
When war propaganda prevails regarding Ukraine or any other place where the hegemon is doing its dirty work, it is reasonable to ask probing questions.
Why are the deaths of 14,000 people killed by Ukraine’s civil war swept under the rug?
Why is it forbidden to ask about the U.S. destruction of Libya?
But once having asked a good question, one will be told that raising the topic is proof of the whataboutism sin.
The word whataboutism is in the dictionary and is defined as, “the act or practice of responding to an accusation of wrongdoing by claiming that an offence committed by another is similar or worse.”
That meaning is accurate and also completely defensible.
The charge is meant to censor the speaker, excuse U.S. actions, and defend its human rights violations.
The denials and apologies are exactly why whataboutism should be defended.
It is terrible when lies and crimes are not countered with verifiable information exposing them.
