British Spy Agencies Have A Long History Of Meddling In Iran.
As bombs fell on Iran, the UK government claimed it had “not participated” in the military action led by Israel and the U.S.
But British spy agencies have a long history of meddling in Iran, with everything from covert influence operations, to secretly selling chemical weapons materials to the regime.
In one case, the UK spy agency GCHQ even created a network of fake Twitter accounts to secretly monitor Iranian opposition activists, the very people working to remove supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei from power.
British spies have targeted Iran for decades, driven by commercial profit and regional control.

In 1951, when the country’s secular prime minister, Mohammed Mosaddeq, nationalised the British Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (later known as BP), the British ambassador wrote: “It is so important to prevent the Persians from destroying their main source of revenue…by trying to run it themselves.”
Two years later, the UK and U.S. secretly backed a coup to oust Mosaddeq and centralise power under a repressive “pro-western” regime.

Declassified files have since revealed the central role played by MI6, who recruited agents and bribed members of Iran’s parliament.
In doing so, one former spy claimed they spent “well over a million and a half pounds”.
The UK and U.S. then supported Iran’s dictator, the Shah, for the next 25 years.
By 1979, the Iranian Revolution saw the establishment of the Islamic Republic led by another dictator, Ayatollah Khomeini.
But this did not stop British spies from collaborating with the regime when it was in their interests.

Sadistic Sexual Ritual Abuse Of Women And Children.
A number of Israeli women testified in a Knesset session about being assaulted in “sadistic sexual rituals” in religious ceremonies attended by Knesset members and other senior figures.
One Israeli woman said she had filed a complaint with the police about the abuses, but it was closed a few months later.
Naama Goldberg, the head of Lo Omdot MeNegged (Not Standing Idly By), an Israeli human rights group, said she had received many testimonies and descriptions of “sadistic abuse of children.”
“They described gang rape by men, and sometimes by women. The abuse was filmed, and drugs were used. There were ritual practices and symbolism,” she said.
Another victim, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said she was tortured and starved at the hands of well-known and prominent individuals.

UK Company Has Sent Sixteen Shipments Of Weapons To Israel.
A British company has sent over 1,000 munitions containers to Israel amid the Gaza genocide, raising concerns about UK arms export controls.
The information is contained within shipping documents reviewed exclusively by Declassified and The Ditch.
The documents show how Permoid Industries, an engineering firm in Durham, has sent 16 shipments of “storage containers” weighing over 100 tonnes to Elbit Systems in Israel since October 2023.
Permoid declined to comment but did not deny that the cases were designed to carry weapons.
Elbit Systems supplies up to 85% of the Israel Defence Forces’ (IDF) land-based military equipment and drones.
The revelation raises the prospect that Permoid’s containers are being used to facilitate war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, pointing to more serious loopholes in Britain’s arms export regulations.

Starvation Of Children Is A Key Mechanism In Israel’s Campaign Of Genocide.
Defence for Children International Palestine, in collaboration with Doctors Against Genocide, have published a report asserting Israeli authorities have deliberately weaponised starvation as a method of genocide, resulting in the preventable deaths and suffering of Palestinian children in Gaza that will carry negative impacts for generations to come.
“The world has watched Palestinian children starve to death in real time since the early days of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and refused to take meaningful action to save their lives,” said Miranda Cleland, advocacy officer at DCIP and one of the report’s authors.

The report’s key findings are as follows:

1. Famine has been present in the Gaza Strip since at least early 2024, when the first Palestinian children died of starvation due to Israel’s closure of north Gaza.

2. Starvation of children is a key mechanism in Israel’s campaign of genocide and has been from the beginning, targeting existing and future generations of Palestinian children and families.

3. Refusal by the international community to declare famine, acknowledge Israeli officials’ genocidal intent, and break Israel’s siege has paved the way for the starvation of more children.

4. Palestinian newborns, infants, and children with chronic illnesses are among the most vulnerable to the effects of malnutrition and dehydration.

5. Starvation occurring in Gaza now will negatively impact Palestinian children and families for generations to come.

Police Have Spent Over £200,000 Protecting Israeli Arms Firm In Newcastle.
A police force in England has spent hundreds of thousands of pounds protecting an arms factory owned by Israel’s ministry of finance.
Based in Newcastle, Pearson Engineering manufactures “mobility equipment to armed forces around the world”, including the British military.
The arms firm was acquired by Israel’s state-owned arms giant Rafael in 2022.
Its financial records show how the country’s ministry of finance now has “significant control” over the company.
Documents seen by Declassified reveal Northumbria police have spent £209,755 policing pro-Palestine protests at Pearson Engineering’s site, as well as at the University of Newcastle since October 2023.
The bulk of this money was likely spent protecting the Israeli-owned factory.
The data includes just one incident at the university while it covers at least four protests at Pearson’s factory between October 2023 and February 2025.

The Killing Of Palestinian Civilians At U.S.-Backed Aid Sites In Gaza.
A report published through the Harvard Dataverse reveals how the layout and inaccessibility of U.S.-backed aid sites in Gaza contributed to deadly chaos and disorder, which was then used to justify the killing of Palestinian civilians.
Authored by Israeli professor Yaakov Garb, the report uses spatial analysis and data mapping to examine how Israeli attacks, movement restrictions, and the flawed placement of aid sites have fuelled civilian deaths.
The report also critically assesses the role of the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), arguing that its structure appears to have been shaped more by Israeli military strategy than by humanitarian needs.
Using location data and spatial analysis, Garb finds that most of Gaza’s population could not reach GHF aid compounds.

The UK Is Still Sharing Intelligence With Israel.
Britain’s defence secretary, John Healey, walked through oncoming traffic to escape questions about why the UK is still sharing military intelligence with Israel.
Healey told Declassified he had “nothing more to add” about the hundreds of Royal Air Force (RAF) surveillance flights over Gaza.
The flights have continued despite Keir Starmer’s government placing sanctions on two far-right Israeli ministers whose roles include national security and defence.

Israeli Airstrike On The Only Catholic Church In Gaza Kills Three People.
An Israeli strike hit the only Catholic church in Gaza, killing three people and injuring ten others including the parish priest, who used to receive daily calls from the late Pope Francis.
The Catholic charity Caritas Internationalis said the three victims were Saad Salameh, the 60-year-old janitor of the Holy Family church; Fumayya Ayyad, an 84-year-old woman who was receiving psychological support in a Caritas tent in the church’s compound when the blast occurred, and Najwa abu Daoud, 69, who was sitting close to Ayyad.
The shelling of the church also damaged its compound, where hundreds of Palestinians, including children and people with disabilities, have been sheltering during the Israeli attacks.

The BBC Are Turning A Blind Eye To UK Spy Flights Over Gaza.
A senior figure at the BBC has defended the broadcaster’s failure to investigate Royal Air Force (RAF) surveillance flights over Gaza by trying to minimise their significance.
Richard Burgess, director of news content at the BBC, told Declassified : “I don’t think we should overplay the UK’s contribution to what’s happening in Israel”.
Burgess’ comment came as he was being grilled over the corporation’s patchy reporting of RAF intelligence sharing with Israel.
The RAF has sent more than 500 spy flights over Gaza since December 2023, which the BBC news website has mentioned just four times.
This is despite the flights taking place on days when Israel committed major massacres of Palestinians as well as British aid workers.
Intelligence from these flights is shared with Israel, whose prime minister is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Gaza.
