Big Shame ‘Hunting’.
Experts estimate there may now be as few as 400,000 African elephants, the largest creature to walk the earth, with hunters killing 100,000 between 2011 and 2014.
In the 1940s there were up to five million.
The British charity LionAid says the African lion population has fallen by 93%, from 200,000 to 15,000, in 30 years.
It says lions are extinct in 25 African countries and virtually extinct in ten others.

The Murder Of Animals By Cowards.

More than 80 ‘chasers’ scared the wild animals into leaving the bush and entering a cleared area where the hunters lay in wait stationed on raised platforms with an easy target.
Tourists have been pictured hiding their faces from the camera before embarking on a barbaric hunt in South Africa that slaughtered scores of wild animals.
It was reported that around twenty Belgian and Dutch hunters took part in a week-long event on a farm near the town of Alldays last week.

Photos show ‘chasers’ lined along the 1.2 mile stretch of land where they herded baboons, warthogs, antelopes and other animals out of the thick bush and into the cleared space.
The animals had no chance of evading the onslaught and the hunters had no way of ensuring a clean shot or a humane death.
Smaragda Louw, of Ban Animal Trading, called it a ‘canned massacre’, saying, “This has nothing to do with conservation or preservation of wildlife or empowerment.”

The Slaughter Of Badgers.
Last year (2014) it cost £7,583 to kill each animal, more than twice the original estimate of £3,350.
A total of 588 were shot with the bill coming to almost £4.5million..
The sum included £1.4million in police costs – £2,367 per animal.

The Government’s Badger-Killing Policy.
Calling an ex-minister a liar is, of course, a very serious accusation, but, in the light of new expert analysis of the statistics on the Government’s badger cull, it is an inescapable conclusion.
Much more serious is the fact that Owen Paterson is apparently deliberately mis-representing the facts to the farming community, giving them false hope that killing badgers will solve their bTB problem.
We, the public, of course, continue to foot the bill for this cruel, misguided, and ultimately doomed policy.

America’s Insatiable Desire To kill Its Large Wildlife.

Big-game hunters in America, the world’s biggest market, pay up to £230,000 to travel to Africa to hunt ‘the big five’.
Lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros.
Those who cannot afford to play in the millionaires’ killing fields make do with trophy hunts on North American soil, shooting bears, cougars, bison, antelope and moose.

Many head to Canada.
Non-residents of Alberta are allowed to kill a bear if accompanied by any holder of a hunter host licence, which costs the equivalent of £13.40.
They must also have a black bear licence (£41.60), a bow hunting permit (£8.16) and a wildlife certificate (£3.97).
That means the total cost of killing a bear would be just £67.13.

But outfitters charge thousands of dollars to guide hunters to their prey, providing food and accommodation.
Many hunters aspire to be inducted into the North American Super Slam Club of those who ‘have registered the legal taking of all 29 of the traditionally recognised species of big game animals native to North America’.
The ‘hunters’ sit comfortably in hides or tree stands, waiting to kill their unsuspecting prey from just yards away.

These eager trophy hunters, who pay up to £5,000 to kill the baited bears, have descended on Alberta as the province became the first area in North America to allow bears to be legally killed this autumn.
Two weeks ago the ‘fall hunt’ was only open to bow hunters but now hundreds of people from millionaire business owners to blue-collar workers, are converging on Alberta as rifles are allowed too.

The Wrath Of Ignorance.
It is both sad and shameful that when night falls and the setts of Southern England stir, their gentle folk will be needlessly slaughtered.
That in spite of science and public will, the wrath of ignorance will further bloody and bleed our countryside of its riches of life.
That brutalist thugs, liars and frauds will destroy our wildlife and dishonour our nation’s reputation as conservationists and animal lovers.
I feel sick, sad, disempowered, betrayed, angry and crushed by the corruption of all that I know as right.

I watched a TV documentary about how animals are farmed, killed and prepared for us to eat.
I saw all those cows and pigs and realised I couldn’t be a part of it any more.
It was horrible.
I did some research to make sure I could still obtain enough protein to fight and, once satisfied that I could, I stopped.

Why Do So-Called Peaceful Religions Inflict Unnecessary Suffering On Animals?
The UK Farm Animal Welfare Council says that the method by which Kosher and Halal meat is produced causes severe suffering to animals and it should be banned immediately.
According to FAWC it can take up to two minutes for cattle to bleed to death, thus amounting to animal abuse.
Compassion in World Farming also supported the recommendation saying, “We believe that the law must be changed to require all animals to be stunned before slaughter.”
The UK government rejected its recommendations.

Pigs In The UK Live Lives Filled With Pain And Fear.

If the allegations made by Lord Ashcroft are true, that Mr Cameron performed a sexual act on a dead pig while at Oxford University, then it shows a callousness and complete lack of empathy entirely unbefitting a man in his position, and he should resign.
No, boys won’t be boys.
Not when it’s sexual perversion and also involves a vulnerable victim of slaughter, a feeling being who lost his or her life and then was used for a prank.
Where have we seen other people in power misusing and sexually abusing corpses?

This conduct is not excusable just because the perpetrator is prejudiced against and sneers at the other individual’s identity.
A prime minister is supposed to protect the most vulnerable.
Most pigs in the UK already live lives filled with pain and fear, confined to severely crowded, filthy sheds and denied the opportunity to engage in any natural behaviour.
They are routinely mutilated, usually without any anaesthetics, including castration and cutting off their tails and teeth.

We’ve Been Lied To By Society.
We forget when we were children (before being sold a heap of lies) how much we loved and connected with animals.
They have families and relationships.
They speak to us, just with a different language.
We have no right to enslave, exploit and take the lives of other conscious beings.
