Guys Can’t Compete.
I worship women, and I have always felt safer when I am around them.
Women are much smarter than men.
I conceded that long ago.
Women should be in charge of everything.
They should be the presidents of every country in the world.
Guys can’t compete.
They just kind of run through life messing things up.

Growing Number Of Palestinian Children Held In Israeli Jails.
A recent United Nations report is concerned over the number of Palestinian children held in Israeli jails – an estimated 7,000 children aged 12 to 17 years, but sometime as young as nine.
An average of two children per day have been detained and arrested since 2002.
According to the report, Palestinian children are routinely arrested, hands tied painfully and blindfolded during night time sweeps by Israeli soldiers.
Authorities also often transfer the youngsters to detention centres without informing their parents.
The detained children regularly faced “physical and verbal violence, humiliation, painful restraints, and threatened with death, physical violence, and sexual assault against themselves or members of their family”.
The report also documented 14 cases where Palestinian children were used as human shields between January 2010 and March 2013.
Israeli soldiers have used Palestinian children to enter potentially dangerous buildings ahead of them and to stand in front of military vehicles in order to stop the throwing of stones against those vehicles.

I Wake Up Every Day Loving Life.
Fame makes you more of an outcast because people think they can’t relate to you.
I have to figure out if there’s an ulterior motive in people wanting to know me and it makes it hard to trust anyone.
I’ve had my same best friends since I was eight years old and I keep my friend base small and close to me.
I wake up every day loving life and being thankful for what I have, and even if something horrible happens, there’s always someone who has it worse.
No matter how hard something is, I always try to find the silver lining.

Too Many Celebs Would Sell Their Souls.
Being famous is very lonely.
I don’t have a huge circle of friends, but the ones I do have are really close to me.
I’ve been let down really badly by a couple of friends in recent years who I thought were genuine but I then found out were selling stories about me, which was devastating.
They betrayed me and that just makes them evil.
No one – and I mean no one – has told me to lose weight, and they wouldn’t dare either.
I’m never going to be a size zero and I wouldn’t want to be.
There’s a tremendous amount of pressure in this industry to be a stick insect but it’s not an issue that concerns me.
Too many celebs would sell their souls to the Devil just to get in the papers.
I have no desire to be ‘famous’ like that.
I didn’t when I won The X Factor and I still don’t.
The public don’t need to know every nuance of your life – it’s possible to give them a little insight and still have a normal, private life.
I almost gave it all up.
After leaving stage school, I had several years of working in boring, dead-end jobs to fund studio time so I could record a demo album, but I never landed a contract.
Just as I was about to admit defeat and take a break from music to go to university, I was persuaded to audition for The X Factor.

I Believe In Miracles.
At the age of 13 I was on holiday in Moscow with my mother.
It was the only trip I took in my whole childhood.
We stepped off a metro train and were approached by a talent scout who told me that she wanted to sign me to her modelling agency.
That was the start of everything for me.
If I hadn’t been a model I couldn’t have become a movie actress.
If I’d stepped off the train a minute later, maybe none of this would have happened.
To me, that chance meeting was a miracle, like something from a fairy tale.

I Was A Big Star Wars Fan.
I was very popular at school, quite the entertainer.
You have to be when you’re a little person, otherwise you’ll be constantly left out.
I never got called any names, except Mavis Davis, not a major problem.
The 16-year-old me wouldn’t be surprised he ended up doing lots of comedy, I always had that in me.
No one treated me any differently.
Occasionally at school my height was an issue, cricket wasn’t great, the ball bounced around my head.
But I was even encouraged to do the long jump, even though I rarely reached the sand.
And I loved that.
My grandmother heard a radio announcement when I was 11, asking for people under 4ft to be in the new Star Wars film, Return of the Jedi.
I was a big Star Wars fan so I got very excited and my mum took me along.
I was very small, only 2ft 11.
I think that’s what persuaded them.
So I got the part.
No audition, they just looked at me, then sent me to get a costume.

An Atheist And A little Girl.
An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, “Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger”.
The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, “What would you want to talk about?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” said the atheist. “How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?” as he smiled smugly.
“Okay,” she said. “Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?”
The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.”
To which the little girl replies, “Do you really feel qualified to discuss God, Heaven and Hell, or life after death, when you don’t know shit?”
And then she went back to reading her book.

Name-Calling Is Small Stuff.
Personally, I find it very hard to care about being called fat.
Of course, when someone calls me fat, there is a chance they’re doing it from a place of superiority and strength.
They could well be beautiful, intelligent, and successful in both bedroom and boardroom.
On the other hand, they could be unattractive, dumb and a flop in both, in which case they’re probably somewhat miffed that I’ve had such a jammy, lush time of it.
When I look in the mirror, I see an ambulatory archive of all the fun I’ve had – all the lush liquid lunches with mates, and all the gorgeous evenings on the sofa with my husband guzzling pizza and ice cream.
I know I’m going to die anyway.
I know of so many people who have died young after following all the boring rules for an alleged healthy life and also of so many people who seem old before their time because they live in fear of death.
I am never going to be convinced by any amount of government bumpf to change my wicked ways.
Historically, we lard-buckets have been known for being cheery coves.
If we can’t have a laugh, especially at ourselves and our own gluttony, we might as well be mopey old self-slashers and self-starvers.
Say it loud – I’m fat and, if not exactly proud, then more than happy with such a no-nonsense description.

I Thought He Was Crazy.
I was blessed to know what I wanted to do early in life.
Music and spirituality run hand in hand.
The great thing about life is that we can never predict futures or read minds.
Music has kept me interested right up until now.
I did ten years studying and this clergyman took me out of the church and said, “You’re not a priest, my friend. You look like a rock star, go and be one. One song is a thousand prayers and you don’t have to wear a collar to be a good man”.
He told me, “You’ll probably do more on that side than you will over here. Go and have a family”.
I thought he was crazy.
Then I met a girl (Jasmine Al-Fayed) and three months later she was pregnant.
