If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.
( Albert Einstein )

Foxes in the UK have three enemies.
Creatures called ‘farmers’, the Conservative Government, and assholes.

The Thought Of Meat-Eating Makes Me Shudder.
We take these animals and completely violate who they are.
We use them, abuse them, and deprive them all their lives.
Then we cut their throats, shred them and eat them.
Morally, I’m against it, ethically, I can’t justify it, and ecologically, it’s just insane.
The thought of meat-eating makes me shudder.
As far as wearing fur is concerned, it is the rudest, most inconsiderate, selfish and sick facade I can imagine.

In moments of darkness we search our memory to find the words that give us comfort.
Animals can’t do this.

We control the life and the growth of every other species on the planet except our own.

A Vow To My Rescue Dog.
You will never feel lonely again.
You will never be unloved again.
You will never starve again.
You will never be hurt again.
I will never betray you.
I will always protect you.
I will always love you.

If you believe we have the right to hurt or do harm to any animal, any animal, then please, never, ever, say to me you are kind or caring or compassionate.
( Florence Emily Hookins, 1896-1962 )

In 1859, immigrant Thomas Austin asked his British brother to ship 24 grey rabbits to Australia for a hunt.
By 1940, the number of rabbits in Australia as a result of Austin’s misadventure had hit 800 million.

We need an extreme movement because what is happening to animals is so extreme.
Some misinformed people claim that animal rights activists are terrorists, but these people are simply ignorant of who the real terrorists are – the companies and industries that torture literally billions of animals each year.

When a hippopotamus dies, other hippos surround the corpse and lick it for a day – only leaving the corpse when hungry crocodiles get too numerous to deter.

If you don’t like pictures of animal cruelty being posted on social media, you need to help stop the cruelty, not the pictures.
You should be bothered that it’s happening, not that you saw it.

A flock of 21 cranes have been released into the countryside for the first time since the 1600s.
They were hatched from imported eggs, taught to find food and avoid predators at Slimbridge Wetland Centre, Gloucestershire.
The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust said: “Cranes left the UK 400 years ago”.

The lamb misused breeds public strife
And yet forgives the butcher’s knife.

The first beavers born in the wild since their re-introduction to the UK last year have been spotted at Knapdale Forest in Mid Argyll.

Although I can’t stop all cruelty to living creatures on the planet, I can be kinder to every living creature in my life.

Only 12% Of Sea-Life Are Fish.
We’ve been plundering them for centuries and using their hidden depths as a dumping ground for our deadly waste, with scant regard for the wildlife that inhabit them.
Scientists have completed a 10-year survey of life under the sea in a bid to identify every living creature down there.
But the survey confirmed man’s devastating legacy, with 90% of big fish vanishing over the past 50 years because of factory fishing.
Habitat change, sewage and fertiliser pollution have also wreaked havoc.
The £400million Census of Marine Life found 1,200 species new to science.
Experts have described 230,000 species but admit the true number may be closer to 1.4million.
Among the discoveries are that only 12% of sea life is made up of fish.

There are 16,764 different types of fish and up to 150 a year are being discovered.
Total fish types could reach 21,800.

Almost every pearl on sale today was born of the planned sexual violation of a small creature, and that considerable suffering hangs on those necklace strings.

All animals need is room to live and to be free from human interference.
Free to be themselves.
That’s not too much to ask, is it?

If those in power were smart or kind then there would not be any unnecessary animal cruelty in our world.

Seven Million Wild Cats Living In The UK.
Animal charities fear at least seven million cats are living wild in the UK today – the same number as those who have responsible owners.
People no longer see them as a pet for life.
The economic crisis has also affected how pets are looked after and as houses are repossessed cats are being abandoned.
Britain has a transient population with people coming and going and they often just leave their cats to fend for themselves.
There are now as many feral cats as domestic ones.
The number of cats being abused has massively increased in recent times.
Gormless meatheads think it’s manly setting their dogs on cats and mindless sickos put down poison in their gardens.

I wouldn’t eat a hamburger for 40,000 dollars.
( River Phoenix )

It’s sad to think animals just want love.
Yet most of them only get abused and murdered.

Pigs down on the kill floor have come up and nuzzled me like a puppy.
Two minutes later I had to kill them, beat them to death with a pipe.
( Former slaughterhouse worker )

The greatest threat to an animal is not just the slaughter-house.
It’s also the consumer.

What a wonderful, beautiful, peaceful world it would be if every human was not only kind and respectful to each other but to every animal and creature we share this planet with.
( Rose Winfold )

It’s beyond understanding why so many people support and pay other people, who have no conscience or compassion, to make the short lives of animals a living hell and then inflict a terrifying brutal death, and feel nothing.

The human animal – the only animal that uses a weapon to kill other animals.
Humans, the cowards among animals.

( Rose Winfold )

All living beings have the right to a decent life.
And no one has the right nor the authority to deny this right.

Vegetarianism is a link to perfection and peace.
( River Phoenix )

When it comes to what is ‘humane’, the disgusting, blood-soaked ‘Meat Industry’ disagrees with just about everybody.

We no longer need fur for warmth and protection.
There are plenty of textiles that provide that today.
It’s pure whim and vanity to choose to wear fur.
It shows a level of ignorance or lack of concern that reflects poorly on the wearer.
( Tim Gunn )

If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends.
If broken by an inside force, life begins.

He could tell by the way animals walked that they were keeping time to some kind of music.
Maybe it was the song in their own hearts that they walked to.
( Laura Adams Armer )

Hundreds of thousands of hens die every day in the ‘Egg Industry’ from illnesses and injuries left untreated.
They are left in the cages to rot beside living hens, or thrown to the ground like rubbish.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Battling To Save The Swift.
Bird lovers across Britain are battling to save the swift.
They travel thousands of miles from Africa to reach our shores to breed.
In recent years there were around 100,000 breeding pairs in the UK.
But today the figure is more like 50,000.
A change in house-building is being blamed for putting swifts at risk.
Most lay their eggs in the eaves of roofs but loft conversions and energy-efficiency improvements such as insulation have reduced the number of suitable nooks and crannies.
Originally cave and cliff-nesters, swifts switched their nesting habits to high man-made structures – under tiles, in the eaves, lofts, spires and towers.

Consequently they are now very much urban birds.
A spokesman for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds said that people across the UK can help these birds by investing in a nest-box.

The greatest problem in the world, the main cause of all misery and suffering, both for humans and animals, is because there are so many greedy, corrupt, ignorant and selfish fucking people.
( Rose Winfold )

If your compassion doesn’t include all animals, then your compassion is incomplete.

Every Creature Has The Same Right To Be Protected.
God requires that we assist the animals when they need our help.

Each being, human or creature, has the same right of protection.
Ask the beasts and they will teach you the beauty of this earth.
All things of creation are children of the Father and thus brothers of man.
God wants us to help animals if they need help.
Every creature in distress has the same right to be protected.
( St. Francis of Assisi )

As long as they continue to abuse and torture animals, humans will never be able to call themselves civilised.

It’s not about “if animals have feelings”.
It’s about “if you have feelings”.

Cruel And Destructive Food Products Should Be Made Illegal.
It shouldn’t be the consumer’s responsibility to figure out what’s cruel and what’s kind, what’s environmentally destructive and what’s sustainable.
Cruel and destructive food products should be illegal.
We don’t need the option of buying children’s toys made with lead paint, or aerosols with chlorofluorocarbons, or medicines with unlabelled side effects.
And we don’t need the option of buying factory-farmed animals.

( Jonathan Safran Foer )

We act every day without thinking of what we do, in a cruel, treacherous, barbaric way towards innocent animals.

We mustn’t ignore the cruelty and the barbaric treatment of animals just because we don’t see it happening.
( Alfred Hookins, 1892-1956 )

‘Hunters’.
Morons who call themselves ‘hunters’ claim to understand the countryside.
They do not.
Hunters, and hunt supporters, are barbaric heathens who simply obtain pleasure from killing.
Stag hunting, badger baiting, fox hunting and bull fighting are all obscene.
Those who hunt, and those who support hunting, have a similar psychological profile to criminals such as Jack The Ripper.

It Is Impossible To Humanely Profit From The Lives And Bodies Of Animals.
Animal agriculture is a business making money on the bodies of other sentient beings.
This can never be free of a fundamental insensitivity towards the victims of the industry’s profits and a deep betrayal to the animals who depend on humans for care.
In the same way that one cannot own humans and traffic their bodies for profit in a humane way, it is impossible to humanely profit from the lives and bodies of animals.

( Hope Bohanec )

Nature is my religion, and the Earth is my church.

Nature is not a place to intrude upon.
It is a home.
A home for animals.
( Wilfred Soon )

Any argument for killing wildlife animals is null and void.
We have no right nor authority to control or interfere with Nature.
Nature is quite capable of looking after itself. Its complexity is beyond us.

Animals are not our playthings.
We are on this earth to protect them.
It’s our duty.

( River Phoenix )

Do we have the right to condemn other countries for their treatment of animals when we behave the same in ours?

We are taught that prison is for punishment.
But we imprison innocent animals in zoos for our entertainment.
( Rose Winfold )

The Close Link.
There is a sad misunderstanding in our society about the close links which exist between cruelty to animals and cruelty to human beings.
People who hunt or shoot and who experiment on animals and the evil cowards who get pleasure from torturing domestic pets are identical in spirit and intellect to those who rape and murder.

You call it a sin, that I love the dog above all else?
The dog stayed with me in the storm, the man, not even in the wind.
( St. Francis of Assisi )

We are taught that serial killers are evil.
But when serial killers kill animals, they call it entertainment.

Whenever you see the word ‘humane’ used in the context of the treatment of non-human animals, get ready for someone who is trying to characterise violence and exploitation in a morally positive way.
( Gary L. Francione )

When we turn away from the reality of abuse and cruelty because it seemed too painful to face, then that abuse and cruelty will simply continue.

We are taught that murder is wrong.
But only if a human is murdered.
We must start thinking for ourselves.
( Wilfred Soon )

Small local farms mean nothing to the victims.
They all end up the same.

People Who Abuse Animals May Be Dangerous To People.
Cruelty to animals and violence towards people have something in common.
Both types of victims are living beings, feel pain, experience distress, and may die from their injuries.
Until recently, however, violence towards animals had been considered to be unrelated to violence towards children and the elderly, and other forms of domestic violence.
A correlation has now been established between animal abuse, family violence, and other forms of community violence.
A growing body of research indicates that people who commit acts of cruelty towards animals rarely stop there.
Murderers and people who abuse their spouse or children had frequently harmed animals in the past.
People who abuse animals may also be dangerous to people.
