Preserve The Good Memories ..
Your past will always be an important part of your life.
Don’t try to forget anything.
Lock those thoughts and experiences away safely in your memory
So that you can get on with your life.
Preserve the good memories,
Taking them out to enjoy them from time to time,
And allow the bad memories to fade away.

I Sit Beside The Fire And Think ..
Of all that I have seen.
Of meadow flowers and butterflies. In summers that have been.
Of yellow leaves and gossamer. In autumns that there were.
With morning mist and silver sun. And wind upon my hair.
I sit beside the fire and think. Of how the world will be.
When winter comes without a spring. That I shall ever see.
For still there are so many things. That I have never seen..
In every wood in every spring. There is a different green.
I sit beside the fire and think. Of people long ago.
And people that will see a world. That I shall never know.
But all the while I sit and think. Of times there were before.

I Sit In The Saddle ..
I feel the road unroll
And keep my senses straightened
Toward tomorrow’s goal.
The naked earth is warm with spring
And with green grass and bursting trees
Leans to the sun’s gaze glorying
And quivers in the sunny breeze.
Amazement fills my heart tonight
Amaze and awful fears
I am a ship that sees no light
But blindly onward steers.
Round the corners of the world I turn
More and more about the world I learn.
As I travel through the bad and good
Keep me travelling the way I should.
Where I see no way to go
You’ll be telling me the way, I know.

Greed In A Man ..
To see the world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.
Only when the last tree has died
And the last river been poisoned
And the last fish been caught
Will we realize we can not eat money.
The root of most problems in the world
Is what is to blame
For greed in a man is a terrible shame.
But life’s a ladder and happiness a goal
And fighting back is good for the soul.

Thank you for another day
And for guiding me along the way

It’s Really Time To Think ..
Of taking things more easily.
The body just won’t take it.
It’s time to call a truce.
It’s not too late to rectify
Those decades of abuse.
Forget the late night parties
And dancing till dawn
The time has come for gentle strolls
And sitting on the lawn.

All Things Bright And Beautiful ..
Each little flower that opens
Each little bird that sings
He made their glowing colours
He made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain
The river running by
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.
The cold wind in the winter
The pleasant summer sun
The ripe fruits in the garden
He made them every one.
The tall trees in the greenwood
The meadows where we play
The rushes by the water
We gather every day.
He gave us eyes to see them
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty
Who has made all things well.
All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all.
