I was never aware of any other option but to question everything.
( Noam Chomsky )

Why not nominate the men and women of the IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) for the Nobel Peace Prize?
( Michael Gove, former Conservative MP and minister ) ..  thenational.scot/news

There are misfortunes in life that no one will accept.
People would rather believe in the supernatural and the impossible.
( Alexandre Dumas )

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
The true neighbour will risk his position, his prestige and even his life for the welfare of others.
( Martin Luther King, Jr. )

I think it only makes sense to seek out and identify structures of authority, hierarchy, and domination in every aspect of life, and to challenge them.
Unless a justification for them can be given, they are illegitimate, and should be dismantled, to increase the scope of human freedom.
( Noam Chomsky )

Many that live deserve death.
And some that die deserve life.
Can you give it to them?
Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment.
For even the very wise cannot see all ends.
( J. R. R. Tolkien )

Nature is inexhaustibly sustainable if we care for it.
It is our universal responsibility to pass a healthy earth onto future generations.
( Sylvia Dolson )

The whole educational and professional training system is a very elaborate filter, which just weeds out people who are too independent, and who think for themselves, and who don’t know how to be submissive, and so on,  because they’re dysfunctional to the institutions.
( Noam Chomsky )

Israel? A territory built on land stolen from Palestine and occupied mostly with immigrants from America and Europe who claim to follow the religion of Judaism.
( Fred O. Wilson )

My great lesson from Auschwitz is, whoever wants to dehumanise any other must first be dehumanised himself.
The oppressors are no longer really human, whatever uniform they wear.
( Hajo Meyer )

That’s the whole point of good propaganda.
You want to create a slogan that nobody’s going to be against, and everybody’s going to be for.
Nobody knows what it means, because it doesn’t mean anything.
( Noam Chomsky )

For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered.
But for those of us who can’t readily accept the God formula, the big answers don’t remain stone-written.
We adjust to new conditions and discoveries.
We are pliable.
Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum.
I am my own god.
We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system.
We are here to drink beer.
We are here to kill war.
We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.
( Charles Bukowski )

All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.
( Noam Chomsky )

Economics that hurt the moral well-being of an individual or a nation are immoral and, therefore, sinful.
( Mahatma Gandhi )

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.
( Aldous Huxley )

For the powerful, crimes are those that others commit.
( Noam Chomsky )

Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed.
If people all over the world would do this, it would change the earth.
( William Faulkner )

Capitalists should never be allowed near a healthcare system.
They hold sick children hostage as they force parents to bankrupt themselves in the desperate scramble to pay for medical care.
The sick do not have a choice.
Medical care is not a consumable good.
We can choose to buy a new or used car, shop at a boutique or thrift store, but there is no choice between illness and health.
( Chris Hedges )

Formerly an anti-Semite was somebody who hated Jews because they were Jews and had a Jewish soul.
But nowadays an anti-Semite is somebody who is hated by Jews.
( Hajo Meyer )

It is the responsibility of intellectuals to speak the truth and expose lies.
( Noam Chomsky )

It’s clearly a crisis of two things: of consciousness and conditioning.
We have the technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end war.
But we lack the intellectual vision, the ability to change our minds.
We must decondition ourselves from 10,000 years of bad behaviour.
And, it’s not easy.
( Terence McKenna )

Let us learn from the English rulers the simple fact that the oppressors are blind to the enormity of their own misdeeds.
( Mahatma Gandhi )

Ukrainians are increasingly reluctant to fight for Zelensky’s corrupt clique and Western geopolitical interests.
The data on the number of deserters have already been repeatedly voiced by us in this chamber.
According to the Ukrainian Ground Forces Command, more than half a million people are declared wanted for evading mobilisation.
Zelensky’s office is, of course, trying to conceal the scope of these developments, but nevertheless, from time to time, new facts are leaking to the media allowing us to draw conclusions about what is really going on.
( Vassily Nebenzia at a UNSC Briefing, January 2025 )

An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics.
( Plutarch )

The atrocities inflicted on the people of Palestine by the Israeli military state has made it more clear to the world who the good people are and who the evil people are.
Those who object to the atrocities are good, and those who support the atrocities are evil.
( Wilfred Soon )

How people themselves perceive what they are doing is not a question that interests me.
I mean, there are very few people who are going to look into the mirror and say, ‘That person I see is a savage monster’.
Instead, they make up some construction that justifies what they do.
If you ask the CEO of some major corporation what he does he will say, in all honesty, that he is slaving 20 hours a day to provide his customers with the best goods or services he can and creating the best possible working conditions for his employees.
But then you take a look at what the corporation does, the effect of its legal structure, the vast inequalities in pay and conditions, and you see the reality is something far different.

( Noam Chomsky )

An organisation which looks to money for everything can never serve the masses.
( Mahatma Gandhi )

There has never been a just war, never an honourable one on the part of the instigator of the war.
I can see a million years ahead, and this rule will never change in so many as half a dozen instances.
The loud little handful, as usual, will shout for the war.
The pulpit will, warily and cautiously, object at first.
The great, big, dull bulk of the nation will rub its sleepy eyes and try to make out why there should be a war, and will say, earnestly and indignantly, ‘It is unjust and dishonourable, and there is no necessity for it.’
Then the handful will shout louder.
A few fair men on the other side will argue and reason against the war with speech and pen, and at first will have a hearing and be applauded, but it will not last long.
Those others will out-shout them, and presently the anti-war audiences will thin out and lose popularity.
Before long you will see this curious thing, the speakers stoned from the platform, and free speech strangled by hordes of furious men who in their secret hearts are still at one with those stoned speakers, as earlier, but do not dare say so.
And now the whole nation, pulpit and all, will take up the war-cry, and shout itself hoarse, and mob any honest man who ventures to open his mouth, and presently such mouths will cease to open.
Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them, and thus he will by and by convince himself the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception.
( Mark Twain )

See, people with power understand exactly one thing, violence.
( Noam Chomsky )

The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government, which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation.
To depart from mere generalisations, let me say that at the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller–Standard Oil interests and a small group of powerful banking houses generally referred to as the international bankers.
The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes.
They practically control both parties, write political platforms, make catspaws of party leaders, use the leading men of private organisations, and resort to every device to place in nomination for high public office only such candidates as will be amenable to the dictates of corrupt big business.
( John Francis Hylan )

Most of the greatest evils that man has inflicted upon man have come through people feeling quite certain about something which, in fact, was false.
( Bertrand Russell )

The more you can increase fear of drugs, crime, welfare mothers, immigrants and aliens, the more you control all of the people.
( Noam Chomsky )

These international bankers and Rockefeller–Standard Oil interests control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country.
They use the columns of these papers to club into submission or drive out of office public officials who refuse to do the bidding of the powerful corrupt cliques which compose the invisible government.
It operates under cover of a self-created screen and seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection.
( John Francis Hylan )

If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people.
( Virginia Woolf )

I am well aware of the tactics of you, my Zionist brethren, use to quiet anyone who attempts to expose any of your subversive acts.
If the person is a Gentile, you cry, “You’re anti-semetic” which is nothing more than a smokescreen to hide your actions.
But, if a Jew is the person doing the exposing, you resort to other tactics.
First, you ignore the charges, hoping the information will not be given widespread distribution.
If the information starts reaching too many people, you ridicule the information and the person or persons giving the information.
f that doesn’t work, your next step is character assassination.
If the author or speaker hasn’t been involved in sufficient scandal, you are adept at fabricating scandal against the person or persons.
If none of these are effective, you are known to resort to physical attacks.
But, never do you try to prove the information wrong.
